I've been wondering that to, was following about 4 players, but they disappeared when I got to a no respawn zone.
I'm really enjoying the PvP mode. Especially the map that's set in a forest. To start with it was a pain in the bottom as I had a crap gun but now I've got a decent one it's rather enjoyable. I even managed a 9.5KD and 9 captures in one game!
This is what confused me. Theres one of two reasons, I'll explain as best I can;
- The people who you see dissapear, specifically at a no respawn zone, are actually a 3 man fire team and are playing an actual story mission, not just in open world exploration mode. As it's seamless up to that point it does first appear strange. Once you play the "Strike" mission, you'll understand. The game first "matchmakes" you with 3 people, the game begins and you are still in an environment with countless other randoms around you - the moment however you and your two comrades go in to the no respawn zone, its effectively just you three. If you as a fourth player were to follow, they would dissapear right in front of you but on a technical level are still on that map. Not sure if that is clear
Note on the strike missions, if your comrades quit, it really is annoying as youre left to fend for yourself - but - those vacant positions do fill with new players (sometimes). I once was left to defeat the final boss by myself after a 30min grind all alone, two people suddenly joined as I had just about won, they reaped all the rewards for my work 
- The other option, is people could just be quitting or shooting off back to the tower.
Reference the ignoring, they do see you, as you see everyone else. Some people are just rude though. I make a purposeful habit of waving if somebody revives me, as I'm polite... lol This is partly why I'm tempted with the Xbox One, I feel the community may be a bit more talkative, though note only fireteams (groups of 3) can speak, public speaking is not enabled.
So, question for me. People who have played both PS4 and Xbox One version, give me a brutally honest comparison. Still not sure whether to keep my PS4 or go back to an Xbox One, as I prefer the controller and am looking forward to Halo 5. Likewise though, I like knowing the PS4 is technically more powerful and am looking forward to Driveclub. I can't justify owning both consoles.

The gun which really helped me in multiplayer is this one;
Very rapid fire. I do generally prefer scout rile/DMR style guns in multiplayer but Destiny multi just seems a little...faster than Halo. A rapid auto rilfle works wonders up close and personal.

I have got my titan up to level 8
But these pulse weapons seems terrible, i cant seem to get a kill with them
