***The Official E2140/E2160 Overclocking Thread***

Mines just turned up :D

I only paid for monday delivery :p

update:

All up and running on Raid Raptors, nice and nippy at the moment.
Its currently using a gig of DDR ram and a 9800 pro, not got a chance to test games yet.
But SuperPi 1M is taking 35 seconds without any tweaking.

Coretemp is reporting oddly low temperatures, around 24 idle, which seems a bit unlikely on the stock cooler, IntelTat tells me its idling around 40.

More to come :)

anyone got 3.4- 3.6ghz yet?

You must be joking lol.

I can run dual Orthos for 8 hours @ 2.8ghz, the temp at 2.8 is 46 idle! I then run at 1.6ghz [stock] and its still 46!

Cant figure this mobo/cpu combo out at the moment. It will sit happily all day at 3.2 but then stress it and it falls over.

I'm stable at 3.2ghz but having trouble booting at 3.4ghz.

TBH haven't really tweaked lately had to much on.

Hi all, I am an OC n00b so please forgive me if I do not follow protocol :)

I bought a new rig yesterday after reading this thread, so thanks for that people. I'm really please with my new system and the CPU overclock.

I have a post relevent to topic, but here's the first part directed at Munky1080. He's asking the question, but no-one so far has answered.
Q.How do I get higher speed for memory on the AsRock 4CoreDual
A. Munky I have the same mobo as you (bios ver 1.80)

I can post with the FSB @ 300. The memory will only run at 300 if I set memory compatability = OFF in the BIOS. All other memory settings are AUTO

You can see with the FSB @300 the memory timings are fastest as per the 266 setting, so this is bonus. Hope this helps you.

My question to all, This board will not post at anything over 300mhz, even 301mhz. Ideally I would like to set the FSB@333 and have the memory running @333 but at the moment, its 300 max... Anyone got any ideas?

Many thanks,

S3 is basically a DS3 but some components are slightly different.Have a look in the DS3 thread there is a post stating what the differences are.

Anyone got any solutions for me yet?

Won't post at anything over 390FSB, even with lowering the CPU's multi, loosening memory timings and over volting everything.

PCI-e frequency is stuck to 101mhz.

Temps are fine for the chip also.
