I would put the RAM divider to 2 x and run it below stock for the time being. Most likely u need to add a touch more vcore, default is 1.325v.Combat squirrel said:Hey guys, new to this core 2 clocking, any pointers ? Using gigabite DS3R can wack the E2140 straight in at 1333fsb for a 2.66ghz speed, everything on auto, runs fine tried 350 fsb, ram now at 833 (800 default), hangs on post screen, again volts are all on auto, im guessing if I fiddle these it will be ok, any pointers whats good volts for intel systems?
Have
e2140
4gb (2x2) ocz ram
gigabite p35c ds3r
700watt psu
8800gtx

If u like u can set it to auto overclocking voltages since it will set the cpu volts to 1.4v and at the same time possibly adjust other settings.
All Ive adjusted is vcore to 1.4v and vdimm to 2.05v (or +0.2v), Im at 8 x 375fsb with the 3 x multi for ram giving 1125Mhz ram speed. I have crucial ballstix pc6400 so your ram may or may not clock as well.
I have a pretty low fsb max of 395fsb but upping the mobo voltages didnt seem to help me on a p35-dq6. Im assuming ** using a p35-ds3r?
Good point put the ram on option 2 but make sure u try increasing the vcore before. Its either the vcore or that option Id say at the moment.Combat squirrel said:Hey dude yeah, im thinking the ram will be god aweful as its 2x2gb sticks, so im trying to keep that at its certified speeds, will try your suggestions thanks
EDIT: Hmm no go with that unfort, wonder whats up also whats the option 1 option2 thing for mem ? also can i change ram timings manually ?
krooton said:He, just banged it to 300x9, no problems, running no hotter than stock either.
I can't wait to get one of these for myself

I bought the ballistix cause I knew they were good from recommendations from this forum. Your ram might be good I dont know but keep it at or below stock while testing the cpu/mobo.
Robbie G said:I doubt that since it's got an 8 multiplier.
Cool, did you try 400*8 yet?Sone said:running my 2160 @ 355*9 (3.2ghz) @ 1.4v
100°C I believe.Sone said:Using a Freezer 7 pro. Temps go to 55 or 70 depending on apps What is the tjunction of this chip?

You should try it and see?Sone said:will that give a real performance increase?

1420MHz-FSB vs. 1600MHz-FSB
710MHz-DDR2 vs. 800MHz-DDR2
Sone said:board won't do 400fsb (Abit IP35-E) Well at least not with the volts i am sticking through it.
Whats a safe temp, i assume 70 is pushing it slightly? (is 1.5v safe assuming i can get temps down?)

If you havent got that option set your memory to 333mhz
