I'd thought about it, but people are getting them to FSB400 + no problems at all.

Then if its not a FSB limitation issue then up your vcore to 1.45v to see if this gets you stable.


Watch the temps then back down the Vcore until you are at a sweet spot

Presume you mean 1.45 in the bios and not after vdrop?

edit: Done what you said, and its now running Orthos at FSB 320. Temps are at around 61 Load now. Whats the max temp you should elt these things run at? Apologise for all the questions, just moved accross from a 939 system....

Try keep it below 65c if you can full load.

Up the FSB and see how far you can get @ 1.45v

Oh I just found out my two 80mm exhaust fans were not working? They were connected to the ANTEC PSU's 'Fan-Only' connectors but the PSU has decided they were not needed?

Got the whole rig apart today and it was amazingly hot after a prime session! I guess without any exhaust fans the hot air just got recycled again and again . . . .

Lesson learnt, if in doubt take the case side off and if your temps drop a massive amount then something is up lol!

I like to run my fans off a fan controller that allows me to see whats up at a glance toward the front of the case (it's a downward skew glance towards the floor, but you get the idea...)

Anyway just got me a e2160 tonight, gonna have to play some.

Whats peoples results with a 2140 and an EVGA 650i motherboard please?

Would you expect similar to what people are getting with the Gigabyte board?

650i is a decent clocking chipset, so there's no reason why it won't clock these chips well.

3 ghz should be a gimme with the right cooling

It'll be on stock cooling as my dad is a tight wad !

If he gets funny about it I'll relieve him of his system and give him my X2 3800+ at 2.6Ghz. He won't notice the difference anyhow !!

running my 2160 @ 355*9 (3.2ghz) @ 1.4v

Using a Freezer 7 pro. Temps go to 55 or 70 depending on apps What is the tjunction of this chip?

Im stuggling to overclock at all with the chip in the Abit IP35-E board. Incread from 204 to 210 and was fine. Increased to 215 and wont boot . Same fan aswell.

I cant remember but when I tried with it on 5 it wouldn't boot. I seem to remember on one of my other pc's I had to lower it also.

I am sure someone will be able to let us in on what it actually does.
