***The Official E7200 Overclocking Thread***

I've got to sort out some issues before i start overclocking mine atm.

Things to do:
- Organise stuff on hardrive (500gb currently contains everything mixed together, 250Gb is going to have Games moved onto it, 500gb for media.)
-Install the hotfix for 4Gb of ram in vista (currently running with one 2Gb stick) would like a link to it if anyone can help me.
-Reseat the TRUE with MX-2 spreaded across the whole chip. (it was a quick job with the first install of it)
-Grab the latest versions of coretemp, cpu-z etc.

SO I'm just trying to remember what is the difference between the E7200 and the other Wolfdale chips, obviously it has less cache (3MB vs 6MB) and has less MHz than its bigger brothers but what else?

Yeah - they mixed them up:
7200: $113/£67
7300: $133/£75
That's what they meant to say I think ;) Excellent pricing though, definitely getting one with a nice P45 next month.

Right then, she's in and running.

So far up to 3.6ghz with 1.27v under load. Temps are a bit of a let down though, 6 or 7 (10C difference at idle!) degrees between cores. Gonna try reseating the block later as I could do with getting the hotter core down to the level of the other one (49C load). Would like to avoid lapping the IHS if I can.

Crysis benchmark shows good improvements so far, E2160 was obviously bottlenecking my GTS a fair bit.

Screenies will follow if I reach something worth showing!

Ok just installed mt E7200 with some OCZ freeze, idle temps ate slightly higher than my E2200 at 32c but load temps seem better at 45c, does this seem about right ?

This is all at stock so time for some overclocking !!!

whats the vid and batch code?

whats the vid and batch code?

vid is 1.1625 but I don't know if it is right as core temp shows the wrong revision,
I'm not sure what the batch code is as I think it's on the IHS. Unless it's one of the codes that's on the box?

Running at 3.8ghz with 1.384 vcore (loaded) at the mo. Did have it at 4ghz with 1.420 vcore but it wasn't totally stable, only had time to run orthos for 20mins, and i don't want to go higher with the vcore until I've lowered the temp of that hotter core.
