Ive not tried facetrack, i assume its similar to trackIR in how you setup a profile, the difference between default trackIR settings, and a well built profile, is as big as the difference between nothing and trackIR.
It does need proper setup that is comfortable to you, generally as i posted above, less sensitive in the middle with a small centre point deadzone, then increasing in acceleration as you move towards the extremities, this helps avoid the headset detecting every tiny micro movement you make when looking straight, but still gives you the ability to see right around as you move further out from the middle.
If its too sensitive at the midpoint it can be quite nauseating as it picks up every milimeter twitch you make and accelerates it into large ingame movement.
