I've been trying out the combat missions while using a black widow and its made me even more desperate for an X52 Pro.

Runs like a dream on my overclockers rig.

Yeah the combat missions are good fun and it all seems to run very well. The combat does take a little bit of time to get used to and is harder than Star Citizen's, at present, 5 second point, shoot, explosion simplicity.

I think this is partly because ships seem to survive much longer in ED, making it an actual dogfight.

I pledged the same and had this sent to me this week :)
"In preparation for Beta 1, this week we released the single player combat build to all those eligible for Beta 1, so you can get some flying practice in before the 29th."

Edit: forgot to say i can now download the singleplayer scenarios so beta starts on the 29th for us :)

you may be better off waiting till early August when the next batch of X55 rhino's are in stock, the X52 is hard to get hold at the best of times, the X55 can be had for around £140 if you look around
It certainly seems quite difficult to find it in stock.. Though I can't quite manage to find the X55 for anywhere near that price.

I'm quite enjoying the challenge though I find it quite difficult to get on your targets tail, they usually spin around and charge right at me.

How do ypu setup your Crossfire I get corrupt textures when I enable it?

I hadn't realised I was getting the texture corruptions... only seems to be on planets though?

Really could use the 'eject' feature being implemented, instead of being screamed at by Betty to do so!

Yep it's a good tactical battle to get the upper hand and requires some skill / learning the game to get better at it - simple to learn and hard to master :)

It's also nice and easy to manage the power levels mid battle as well.

Been playing a bit of the single player combat missions with mouse and keyboard and really loving it, finally decided to up the game and ordered myself a Thrustmaster T Flight hotas X joystick :D , looking forward to its arrival greatly!

Good choice Jongo, I think you'll feel more immersed into the flight system than ever before :)

Does anyone have any good tips for surviving :/... Making trades seems to take a long time before any real money is made for 'upgrades'

Had first proper go with X-55 on the SP scenarios. It is quite brilliant.

Couple of minor gripes with the X-55 - my hand is too small to reach hats comfortably, i'd have thought my hands were fairly average size.

Trying to use pov hat while holding pinky switch requires serious dexterity. Hopefully will get used to it but is a killer at the moment.

I rather like the power management aspect though it usually leads me to putting all power into engines and systems and retreating when I'm overwhelmed.

Are the throttle and stick connected to each other by cable or wireless?
