Great video, reminds me of the I-Novae Engine. I wonder if it's licensed?
According to the I-Novae dev's twitter feed it isn't.

I think having experienced eve for 9 years, Mr Braben is being naive in the extreme if he thinks he has any hope what so ever of having a pvp system of anyone and anywhere that'll work out.
He's just lost half his audience if thats the case, people will drop, those that don't mind allready sub on eve.
If he elite turns into the same meta fest as eve, then it's doomed, eve had years to become that with a playerbase entrenched in it's inception and growth.

I cant see how you figure. The whole point of police / bounty hunters is hugely attractive to the average Elite player and I also wouldnt draw a comparison between Elite and Eve because of the very different way youll engage with the universe. Free flight in 3d vs mouse click 2d? Cant see them competing tbh.

Update #4 - New pledges and new pledge upgrades
Update #4 · Nov. 16, 2012 · 2 comments
There are some new pledge categories - and this gives some new things to those who have already pledged!
You can also upgrade pledges with physical things (that will be shipped to you). More details here:
http://www.frontier.co.uk/dangerous_kickstarter_pledges/pledges/
Once again, thanks for all the support. It is really heartening.
David
These are unlimited and available to all tiers of £40 or more. Simply up your pledge by the total of the items you would like (including additional postage for each item if you are outside the UK), but keep the same tier on the “Manage my Pledge Screen”. Please note: each of these items is separate – it does not include all the previous items.
Once the Kickstarter campaign for Elite: Dangerous has completed successfully we will ask you how you want the additional funds allocating (ie the amount over and above your selected tier), and then provide the additional items as described on the dates described.
