I'm definitely sitting on the fence until it gets close, I'd rather just buy this game when it's released than kickstart it but if it's close at the end I'll probably throw my money at it.

Well, I just pledged my support to the game. Sitting just under 700K at the moment, just under a month remaining.

As an original Elite player (I never did reach Elite, only Deadly) I'm very much looking forward to this and hope it achieves the funding target!

I'm thinking they went to the BBC way to early, should have done that a couple of weeks before it closed, once they had plenty of info out about the game to persuade people to donate, rather than nothing what so ever other than "give us money and we'll do a new Elite".

Do you think Star Citizen have anyhting to do with this not doing so well getting the cash ?

I'll pledge after Christmas, just can't spare the cash at the moment & I suspect there's a lot of other players out there too who feel the same.

I think Star Citizen was a blessing and a curse for Elite: Dangerous as it pushed space sims on PC to the forefront of peoples minds again & helped increase attention towards the genre. However, it also got much more attention directed at SC and blind-sided the work that Frontier were doing in the mean time.

Overall, I think the pledges will increase after the Christmas period and it will hit it's target but Frontier & Braben were caught with their pants down and couldn't react fast enough when SC hit the headlines meaning poor initial reveal to their game.

I was quite impressed it made it past 400K as it was about that point it ran out of original fans ready to put their money where their mouth was.

I'd pledge more if they agreed to stop talking about consoles and start talking about the merits of multi-threaded/64bit/DirectX11 gaming, I think they are a bit out of touch tbh.

I think I am gonna withdraw my pledge since they show no interest in answering the question I had in this thread.
I'll pick up you're toys but I'm not putting them back in the pram for you!
Perhaps you're question has no answer yet could be they don't want to make false promises unlike a lot of kickstarter projects that promise the earth, at least the guy is answering the questions he can, shows commitment at the very least.
