Made it to 800LY, decided I'd already had enough. Maybe I'll try again another time when I don't feel like shooting things instead. :o

Whenever I'm killing stuff, I want to go out exploring...

Whenever I'm exploring, I want to just kill loads of stuff...

Whenever I change my mind and do one of the other I always need to some trading to make cash for all the coming upgrades.

Whenever I start thinking this chopping and changing is becoming a bit of a PITA.. I realise at least it's not as bad as mining.

Anyone else wing up when trading?

There was three of us last night and the speed we were going with a single jump to and from, i made just under 5 million in 2 and a bit hours in my Asp. Was in a wing with two Anaconda's and it worked out that it was quicker to fly there and sell than it was waiting for the trade dividends.

Yeah, I've done it a little. With three or four in a wing, you can use the nav-lock teleport to make trading almost instant. Makes the credits roll in quickly.

Well, I'm back in occupied space now, so if you want to wing up some time and find another person or two, I'll be up for it. I'm still about 60,000,000 away from my next goal. :(

Oh did I drop a major b*****k last night.

Decided to start doing some Fed missions to get my rank up and saw an easy "drop this lot off" mission.

At Hutton Orbital.

I got to almost 1800C in supercruise and finished a book by the time I got there. Never again.... never, ever again.

I'll not mention the over 300KCr it cost to repair the ship afterwards. (Asp)

Oh, hell I just remembered they have rare items there and I forgot to pick them up. Someone find me a cat to kick.

Had a play around with KICS Voice Attack profile last night.

Works well, except his bindings aren't what I use, so I've gone through the whole thing and added my key bindings to the profile and changed the commands to execute them instead of the key presses. Has a decent female voice and best of all it's free.

Also found another free profile called Anubis, haven't had a play with this one but has a male voice which reminds me of the suit in Crysis.

I may upload my edited version of the KICS profile if anyone wants it later, let me know.

Fired ED up for the first time since beta yesterday, in anticipation of the DK2 arriving tomorrow. Got my X55 mappings all sorted out.

What's the best way to get a few credits on the go now? Back in beta it was just popping NPCs at a federal distress signal....

Resource Extraction Sites if you want bounty hunting. You can easily make a million in a short amount of time there and it's probably the fastest way to get started, especially if you can find someone to form a wing with.

Haha, Hutton Orbital is great for having a nap :D

After a bit of advice from those with Anaconda's
I bought one for trading as I was just so fed up with the type 9, i managed to kit it up to do my normal run in one jump as opposed to two in the T9, which although running 452tons where I used to run 500tons has cut the round trip from 15 mins to 11 mins so makes it much more profitable, and the bonus is I actually enjoy flying it

Thing is I just can't dock the thing without scraping the shields on the station entrance! It seems the slower I go the worse i am. The only time I actually managed a clean exit was when I accidentally boosted out of the station, I thought I would loose the ship going by all my other attempts but somehow managed a clean exit, although my pants were far from clean after that :D

I never had this trouble with any other ship, I found the T9 easy to park. I think its the length of the ship causing me problems and the bits that stick out on the top and bottom, added to that the upgrades cost my more than I thought and I was running with no insurance for a couple of runs

On the way in I find it slightly easier as you have the round pattern on the back wall to help with alignment but I still manage to scrap the shields

Its not too much of an issue at the moment as I don't really lose any shields and I switched back to solo while I didn't have the insurance but I want to switch back to open now and having other players hot dogging through the slot is just going to make matter worse

Any one got any tips?

Newletter #72 and powerplay details: http://us2.campaign-archive2.com/?u=dcbf6b86b4b0c7d1c21b73b1e&id=b0a8ebba0b

What Is Powerplay?

Powerplay is a new way to play Elite: Dangerous.

In Powerplay, you can participate in an ongoing battle for interstellar conquest and control that enhances every aspect of the Elite: Dangerous experience.

When Powerplay launches, you'll be able to ally yourself with any one of a number of galactic Powers, earning valuable perks, reputation bonuses and credits for your allegiance.

As a trusted ally of your chosen Power, you will be able to guide their strategy, take on special objectives to advance your shared cause, and dominate human space. Your choices and actions will have a direct and visible impact on the balance of galactic power.

And of course, Powerplay is a FREE content update for all Elite: Dangerous players and will be part of Elite: Dangerous for Mac and Xbox One at launch.

Power will rise in May :D

Went from a brief spell in a Type 9 to an Annie back in January, so I've had experience with both ships.

I also found the Annie hard to dock at first; although it's not as wide as the Type 9, it's much thicker. In order for the lower structure not to bump the letterbox, you have to enter the slot much higher than you would in a Type 9 (or any other ship). It takes a little getting used to, but given time it will feel like second nature (can't remember the last time I clipped the entrance, and I've been trading heavily since returning from an exploration run so have had plenty of opportunities).

As for exiting, I always use the "click launch then save and exit" technique to effectively teleport outside the station almost instantly; can't remember the last time I actually exited manually! Some players frown on this, I myself think it's a non-issue and the time saved adds considerably to profits over long trade sessions.

:( That's me frowning on this practice. :p

Looking forwards to Powerplay. Should be a nice way to mix it up and give a better goal than "another ship".

Weirdly, leaving the dock is one of my favourite bits :)
Lifting up with thrusters, disengaging landing gear then throttling out of the entrance is fun.
Maybe I'll change my mind if I ever get a silly big ship.
