I'm on the fence getting this, people saying they're bored after a week because they've 'done everything'.

Elite 2 was so good it was the only game in the world that got me out of bed early before school.

Can I expect more of the same?

If you stick to doing the same thing all the time it can get boring, I still think it's excellent, but the power play update coming soon is going to change things so much.
 
Another hour or two and I reckon I can be out of this Hauler and into my Cobra.

Im a little bit excited. Ive been exclusively trading , stripped the hauler for max cargo , and taking risks running no shields.

Hopefully I can mix it up a bit in the Cobra and do some combat as well :-)

Is it? Or could the concern be it's just going to orchestrate the same *grind* people are doing now?

Consider a trader at the moment trading between A & B. Or a bounty hunter killing wanteds at a RES. Could it be this time next month they are doing exactly the same, except with an eye on the outcome of a graph too?

How is Powerplay going to "change things so much"? Are missions going to become noticeably deeper? Is the ED universe being to become more interesting?

I'm concerned Powerplay will simply drive people into doing exactly what they are doing at the moment, simply to raise a graph in addition to their bank balance...

So, I've benched my Vulture temporarily and bought a Type 6. Kitted it out for trading and now I'm wondering what I should do.
Is 100+ tons of cargo space too much for pootling round doing rare runs? Should I try proper trading? I wonder if I should have rebought my cobra and kitted that out for trading instead..

You can still do rare runs but you're at the point where commodity trading, if done right, should be more profitable; why not try this 60 stop trade loop?

Oh Ross 42 RES how I love thee.

5 Million in a single session :D

I was still recovering from buying the Asp, 3 times losing it and didn't have enough to cover the insurance. Stumbled on this RES and found swarms of Anacondas, Drop Ships, Pythons, and Clippers. The best part was the 2 Police Anacondas that stuck together and made the whole event a right laugh.

At one point there were 4 Anacondas trading broadsides while the smaller ships were swarming all over. I had time to pick off the wing members and then help out with the big ships and get the bounty on all.

Utterly brilliant fun. Basically I doubled my money in one go. Still got almost 2 million to claim from the Alliance and Empire
 
and a base 7.5Ls away.

I only stopped 'cos I really needed to eat and I was finally running low on ammo

(my pc had crashed earlier so I thought the zone would reset, it did but the big ships turned up again)

Need to check that out, how long was your session?
 
Does anyone know if they are going to do anything about how you can claim your bounties?
Couple of weeks ago I spent hours going round all the system's I had outstanding bounties collecting them. I swore I would keep on top of them after all that................... two weeks on and I have 3 mill of outstanding bounties again :rolleyes:

Surely you should be able to cash bounties at any station, or stand alone bounty collection centers? even if they charged 10% it would still be preferable than having to navigate half the galaxy to collect them
