Yeah, been having loads of 'Failed to communicate with authentication server' and 'Could not connect to the adjudication server' errors recently. Also, the mission board and other things are still taking an absolute age to open.

I can never understand how somebody could create such an immense game but then scrimp on the servers required for plahers to play.

+1 - bloomin' annoying tbh

On a different note - just loaded up 5 x passengers missions to Jacques station and surrounding areas. See you in a few weeks ;)

Not all problems can be solved by throwing more servers at it.

So this morning I dragged my scuffed up Clipper back to the bubble and wondered how much my (at times mind bendingly dull) exploration trip along the Perseus Arm netted me. It seemed three weeks, over 30k light years, endless honks and "Frame Shift Charging", 4 Earth like worlds, 1 Neutron Star, 3 red giants not worthy of the name and a Water giant, was worth 18 million credits. :(

I then discover missions have been battered with the nerf bat of stupidity (:D) and now the only way to make cash is to traffick refugees. This afternoons profiting from human misery netted me 10+ million...

So my top tips are A) Cram as many desperate people as possible in to the back of your star ship, and B) Don't explore the Perseus Arm east of the due south line. It's an incredibly uninteresting stretch of the galaxy. :p

That's a low blow, how dare you suggest such a thing :p I'm fairly sure the fix for that particular server crash is lined up for 2.2.02.

Hehe... sorry CMDR

Well time to put elite away for another 6 months.

My corvette does everything apart from small pads and is quite possibly the best ship in game. Chews up multiple ship attacks and still has 128t of cargo.

Mind you, in did sack all my crew for a harmless hot chick. Yes I am that shallow :)

It needs more to do as a wing or co-op

Something you might not expect to be fun in a wing : exploring. Go for a jaunt to a nearby nebula with a mate. Pass the journey with some banter and take some cool screenshots together when you get there. Do an SRV race up a mountain to make an event of it or do a quick canyon race and generally arse about then head on home and sell the data. Fun way to pass an evening and get your Explorer rank up a bit. It helps if you have similar jump ranges, but there's no need to take the same route, especially as you're more likely to find undiscovered systems.

I would definitely agree but none of our pals are up for exploring. They prefer to bounty hunt :(

On my way to Colonia again and then to the centre. Should get around 320 million credits upon return + any exploration data. Also taking a bit more time with this jaunt, i.e. exploring any water worlds using the Surface Scanner

See you soon

Spent 2 weeks exploring once.

Never ever ever ever again. I fail to grasp any concept that pressing H waiting 10 seconds, avoid a sun, press scan and repeat is actual gaming content. You might get a lucky and find a earth like planet in which case you spend another 20 minutes getting to it and pressing Scan then its back to pressing H.

SPACE IS DULL AS **** looking at it through a telescope is the best way to go about it.

Precisely why I recommend going to the interesting bits and doing it with a friend.

Sort of... After 2yrs they've finally added some exploration content/graphics/effects in the shape of neutron stars etc... But they need to add loads more stuff ideally...

It seems the war down at HIP 10716 has finally ended and with it the people trafficking opportunities.

The end result was that in a days play I racked up 60 million credits (, 25 modular terminals!1!) and got my Anaconda at long last. Of course buying this barge now opens up a whole new level of grind in order to get her useful, and that's going to be no cheap task.

In fact this may be the point I try to take a few days away from the game.

yeah I did 96 mil yesterday in about 3 hours, then decided to do some engineer upgrades for my corvette, got shields up to just over 3800mj, but I now need to unlock some engineers, so started to mine but I cannot find any painite, anyone know of where to find some.

Look for pristine metallic rings in the EDDB. If you are just after Painite you should find some in 5% of the asteroids you prospect. I find some with 45% Painite and I know I'm in the money then.

cheers m8, I just checked eddb, and I'm mining in hr 5307, but eddb says I should be at hr 5307 8 b ring, but when I go to 5307 8 b there is no ring,

That's a good rate... What was that doing?
