Indeed.

I never bother with open now, its pointless the interaction is useless anyway. Oooo look another ship..... THE END.

In my experience it's "Oooo look another ship, sarcastic message, hull damage, respawn".

I've had a couple of bad grifing experiences in Open Play - but I suppose that's just the downside of it being 'open'.

Elite tedium has set in again, Even my fully loaded Corvette with a green full engineered beam loadout is not enough to bring excitement. The last CG in Hoi-Sin just drived home again how utterly dull this game is :)

Guess its time to put away and wait till the 26th
I was enjoying it landing at barnacles and then went to an engineer. Once i started rolling i found it dull and boring and it out me right off. Ive stopped playing now, cant be bothered. And that coming from a £200 Alpha backer that had dreams of the game being different to what it actually is. Theres more exciting games to play other than this.

There's no wonder loads of players refuse to enter open & why Mobius is so popular, especially now they're banning pvp.

Come on though this is nothing new, once you go online with other humans people's brains have this internal retard switch that flicks to on it happens on every online game. It happens in every game I've played over the years from Unreal Tournament to Age of Empires 2 (you will play a team game and one of your team mates will wall of your resources or quit after 5mins leaving you at a big disadvantage), you go online just expect a percentage of people to be stupid.

Yeah, but nothing's ever been done about it in ED & now with the whole "You're pledged to Nth group, it's open season against you by everyone else" it's just going to get worse. I can just see it being more & more going into solo, which guessing that new Thargoid stuff will be tougher fight, will mean loads will miss out.

P.S. I still don't believe Thargoids are real, never seen one :p

You can see there's someone attacking me in the station, not just outside, & the stations defences do nothing at all.
Kind of defeats the points of them at all ;)

I have memories of warcraft (some of them good :p) where a few of us would raid enemy cities, but at least they had guards that'd defend them & players that didn't want to take part weren't affected, unless they themselves hit out first. Well, unless you tricked them into it via AoE :D

I'm not seeing any kill missions to stack in Quince. Anyone got any other suggestions for places or should I stick to scan missions until the 26th

One I used to do & also got me my Imperial rank:

This grind is a loop between

HIP 10716 and
Wu Guinagi
Distance: 11.9 ly

Quest types

Data delivery
Cargo missions

My ship

Type-6 or Imp' Courier.

There's also one planet scan quest type, but you need an SRV & it takes longer to do.

Don't recall money I made from it though, was ages ago.

I came back to Elite today after maybe 6 months off. Anything new now? I can bounty hunt or explore. But kinda stuck as to what to do.

Anyone suggest anything cool to do?

There is nothing cool do, it's still the same as when you left unless you have horizons in which case you can land on a planet, you can land on a planet that is red in colour, blue in colour and brown.

Maybe spend 12 hrs using the totaly inadeqaute planetary coordinate system to get and fine some alien ruins. (Totally overhyped as usual by FDEV and the community) other than it's credits and rankings.

I think I love the idea of the game more than the game itself. I still read the forums, sub to the various twitter feeds on the game and when I'm working I often think about sinking an hour or two into the game in the evening. Trouble is, the nearer my game time gets the stronger the realisation I will probably end up flying to various planets looking for my eng materials and (thanks to the rng) probably getting very little, if any. Come game time, I just can't bring myself to log in. like One Vision said earlier, there are more exciting games to play. I'm not casting any comment on those that enjoy the game, it is what it is and if you are happy playing it then its all good. Personally I hope FD make some changes to effect the grind in the game as like I say, I still love the idea of the game.

Elite Dangerous: In space no one can hear you yawn. ;)

Head out to HIP 17044, go fairly close to the second planet & target Asterope in Galactic Map (don't plot a course, just select it as destination). Fly towards it for roughly 10-12kls. Re-target second planet, so you can see how far you're heading out, and look out for a distress call.

Check earlier in thread for my post, has spoiler youtube clips, but not really that spoilerish :p

Have you been to the new Thargoid bases on planets? If got Horizons, grab at least two alien ruins items from any of these sites:

http://www.nusantara.com.my/EliteDangerous/ruins1.html

Grab an Unknown Artefact & an Unknown Probe as well (you'll need a 1*2 resistant cargo bay from Palin(?), then head to MEL 22 SECTOR ZU-P C5-1 & fly around the planet. You should be able to see something massive, even when in super cruise.

Unknown probe I found in a USS (degraded emissions detected,m threat 2) around a planet at PLEIADES SECTOR RO-Q B5-0 7. Fly around the planet at around 20-25Mm distance.

Enjoy ;)

If already seen & done those, then nope. There's nothing new :p

That's why we all use helmets. To hide said yawn :p

Welp, today's mission is to see if I can get interdicted by something alien.
Got a Python with seven ruins items, going to grab a UA & a probe or thargoid base item.
Doubt anything will happen before tomorrow's patch, but got plenty of podcasts lined up ;)
*shudder*
