******* The "official" Essential iPad Apps thread (with stars) *******

Yup I bought for the iPhone and got it on the iPad now as well, its fantastic - can't recommend it enough!

Ok either I have set this up wrong or I have paid £17.99 for a total piece of crap .

I have tried numerous different settings and just can't log on with this , any ideas ?

****Ok the it will only work on my 3g and not my home WIFI for some reason . ****

So with a lot of people using GoodReader to open PDFs and documents, what are you using to edit them?

i was going to get GoodReader but I need to be able to edit documents, I've come across 2 apps which look good but wondered if anyone has used them - Documents To Go, Office HD.

I'm liking Pulse.. good find... can't seem to get some of the feeds to work though :(

Has anyone found a decent UK Newspaper type app? one that works while traveling with no internet connection?

Although I love the image focused pulse, it's a great app to use to show the iPad off, I have a problem with the way that it displays the "text" it harvests from the feeds. It's just not up to the same standard as netnewswire or reeder. It removes links, doesn't make titles clickable etc.

Once they get that sorted I think this will be my full time reader!

Does anyone actually read any of the newspaper apps? I have tried a few but always come back to the BBC News site which looks and works great - the proper app is on its way too :) ( came out in the US first for some stupid reason  )

How do I get the BBC news iPad app?

The BBC News iPad app is currently available to download in the Apple App Store in the United States. The BBC News iPad app will be made available in other Apple App Stores in due course.

I just keep it in web mode so it displays the associated web page, looks good to me..

It's a shame that some of the feeds don't bring up pictures (Pistonheads, BBC News).. would have been ideal otherwise.

Just seems odd well not odd, but iTunes helped a lot bring down the price for full albums sales etc, for what is a book the newer releases at 7.99 seem steep when i can buy them at a fiver without havinng to look far at all.

Also what browser are ays using, i got a free update with iCab and am using it, but with it and safari when browsing on the forums, when you scroll down a thread quickly the page takes a sec to load before you can continue scrolling, you can keep scrolling down but it's just grey space.
