The *Official* Eve Online Thread

Considering anyone who isn't CFC is the same coalition at the moment - very likely! This is me.
We're currently staged up in Venal/Tenal shooting lots of Init and reinforcing their space. Next stop Razor.

Going to be a big fight in M-OEE8 soon, local at 1700 and climbing. Still no tidi, new servers seem good so far! 5 minutes for timer before the chaos begins!

The fight last night was 454.58B total lost. 72.5% efficiency for the money badger coalition! down with the imperium!;)
now CO2 have left the imperium also.. :)

I'm disapointed by the lack of caps involved. Only 4 dead carriers?! No supers? :(
Hoping this will be the first of many big fights in this campaign, whilst I think last night will be remembered it's not the supercap blood bath that allowed B-R5BR to hit 11T worth of losses...

Haha yeah i'm pretty sure i heard on comms there were 100+ titans on standbyand obviously the supers to accompany them. The numbers arn't actually suprising when you think of the amount of corps involved! It would have been stupid if they came in though, way to many sub caps and the tidi would have took them 30 minutes to cyno in xD

I'm sure we will be seeing a super cap escalation in this war though no doubt

I did read somewhere that CO2 hadn't cynojammed the system which also made the goons suspicious, and us "good guys" didn't need to bring in supers to win :D
Fingers crossed for some big super escalation!

I'm glad I was there but can't say I had much fun, TIDI was at max and the old problem of modules not activating is back since the new hardware was added. I really doubt I'll attend another big timer such as that one and many people might think alike, especially once the real sov grind starts.

Some allies think the war is already over and its only a matter of time before CFC collapses but I don't think we've even scratched the surface yet. I highly doubt the allies will manage to kill the CFC.

Goons are too over-reached to effectively fight against an organised coalition - once they fall back and solidify their defences strategically it will likely turn into a lot more drawn out campaign - especially if the coalition(s) arrayed against them become complacent thinking they are winning and line numbers drop.

I think it's unfair to blame the hardware really. Whilst it could be that CCP are kinda at a loss, as they up the capacity we'll just bring more people, until they add a player cap I can't see them resolving it. Not that I'd want to see a player back though - it's not what this part of Eve is about :p

I'm with you guys though, definitely can't see Goons going down without a much tougher fight!

I love eve but haven't played in ages :(

Anyone mind summing up what's going down with the new Goon war? Loved the politics in this game.

TBH the video linked by Pixel actually covers a lot of it pretty well! Plus it's bloody hiliarous :D
Think there is likely multiple threads to this, but the version I'm aware of lines up well with the video - Space Monkeys upset iwantisk, so they paid various mercs and alliances to shoot Space Monkeys and other CFC affiliated alliances.
Some good progress is made by attacking groups and things just escalate as more and more alliances start piling on the goons (who dwarf pretty much every other alliance) - huge amounts of community spirit in all picking on the top dog.

It's great really, from what I'm aware there isn't really any large scale grudges between alliances driving this. It's just escalated and will likely continue to do so whilst there is momentum driving the goons backwards.

Yeah far from over i believe, once the super caps escalations happen we will truly see how numbered the imperium are. their super cap fleet combined is huge

Rooks and Kings just released a new video about the war, high quality stuff from them as usual.

Yup this is quite exciting, This means they are looking at coming back to TQ again, and it's hinting about the current war.. My feel is that they will appear once the first real capital escalation hits. They've been farming ISK on their alt wh corps on TQ for quite a while now so when they come back they'll most likely be ready to jump straight back in with the expensive fits :)

Nice interview about the war from last night.

Test guy so serious. Goons guy completely doesn't care.

Typical. :D
