The *Official* Eve Online Thread

Yeah I'm beginning to tire of the counterstrike style attitude I'm seeing more of on Eve :( 2 years ago I moved over to Eve due to the mature community :( but seems like it's going downhill a bit, but it's to be expected from a succesful/popular game :(

tbh its been going down since it went gold.
back in the beta i was HELPED by a random stranger in 0.2 space!

I do appologise if I come across as overly arrogrant. I am quite a bit, however I'm in the process of quitting smoking so that probably fuels the fire.

I really do think ASCN are quite bad tho. As I'm sure most of you feel the same way about me.

Yeah I try to help as many people as possible :) recently saw a guy in a merlin struggling with .5 rats so convoed him, asked if he was ok and got chatting :) then just gave him half a mil ISK and told him to ask if he had any probs :) plus I like going round random system looking for people needing help with missions.

Whats Camelot Jenk? :)

You would not believe how inaccurate that is.
I mean this in no disrespectful way, but BE is a small group of players.
You've only ever been a minor irritation as a consequence, even when you seemed to have a full fleet in our space. Your small numbers never presented a threat. Your successful PvP kills only made us stronger as those that died either learnt a new lesson on how to survive in 0.0 space better or they left ASCN for an empire corp.
ASCN knew, and demonstrated on numerous occasions that if we wanted to get rid of BE for a while we just had to form up a small gang. That guaranteed to get your fellow BE pilots logging off. I'm not sure if you're quite aware of how often your counterparts actually logged off even in the face of two cruisers, but compared to you its a humongous difference. The only time I've known you to log off was when you faced overwhelming odds. You at least always put up a fight.
I spent a memorable hour sitting on one particular gate with another ASCN pilot just watching one of your guys warp in in a jamming Raven, realise two cruisers were on the gate, and then warp away and log off for another 5 minutes, while a bunch of carebears in the system I was by were merrily getting on with their thing. Only once did he engage us (hence I knew for certain it was a jamming raven), and he ran away from the medium drones I threw at him.

I've been reading a bit about this and it seems like a good game. Is there a trial version I can play before deciding if it's worth the monthly fee?

Shin Ra (Cryptkeeper) is the Eve 1v1 champion, he won an award a little while ago IIRC. :)

No need to go overboard, the guy is handy... whilst it may come across as arrogance, he really is very good.

Whilst I have absolutly no doubt that Shin Ra posses a wealth of experience tactics and an array of skillpoints, you must remember only the minority of eve players who could actually get to Iceland for the fanfest were in that 1v1 tournament. Given the equal skillpoints in the event Mr Ra has obviously demonstrated his ability in setting up and flying ships, but that doesnt quite make him or BE the kings of PVP that dragoon keeps spouting on about in EO.

I would be very keen to know his setup, thinking outside of the box should always be encouraged as far as ship setups go, im no expert but if I was wanting to develop a new setup for a raven I might consider dual cap boosted 2 XL or cap boosted armor tank

*Is glad that he is losing the interweb for an indeterminate length of time from saturday*

(Moving and need to set up new interweb before anyone thinks I'm just careless or forgetfull)

Learn not to take anything said online seriously, it'll probably add a few days to your lifespan... hence reading EO these days just makes me giggle.
