The *Official* Eve Online Thread

Alright guys, I'm thinking of starting to play eve, just a couple questions.
Is it worth it to start at this point?
Is it better to download the client and do the pay online thing or buy it from the shop?
What do I do when I start?
and finally, is there anymore of that 14day trial stuff or anything like that going on anymore?

1) I think so, I just started and there's so much even a new player can do.

2) I downloaded the client after paying the 19 Euro on their web site. I don't know what retail offers differently.

3) Start with the tutorial missions. They might seem boring but they do teach you the basics of the game without getting you too lost. You can then find agents on stations to do their missions, at the moment a mix of courier/pirate hunting (I've been playing since Friday).

4) There's a free trial available from their web site if I remember correctly. There's also a "buddy" system someone might be able to sign you up with.

:)

if you KNOW you want it, then some shops have copys for £5 and that has a months sub with it! go for that!

once in contact me ingame (VENT) and I'll come help you out, but DO THE TUTORIAL!!!

I got the deathblow on steve! :D

I was suprised at our performance, thanks to Vader's scorpion we managed to get around 10 kills at an overall loss of 4 ships due to gatecamping by Kinsy and other camps at Jita. :p

It makes life in OcUK corp look very sad and boring somtimes. Seeing the control tower go up was my favourite part of the night and that is nce and industrial. :)

i wasnt paying attention at first, but you webbed/***'ed/scrambled me so could to bugger all about it.

that was 3 BS against a Vaga, 1v1 i'd do better i think.

i aint goona start this arguement again.

I personally think EW is a little cheesy too, so i know where you're coming from. :)

It was quite evident in the video from the G/IRON/RAZOR war that their BS were each fitted with at least one or two multispecs each. I may have to start doing that. :o

lol :) it was all a bit of fun, I did have 6 heavy n.o.s fitted :p and 4 multispec, 3 sensor boosters and a 20km scrambler

it was hte only real time we could basically have a go at being ebil pierats :p felt like the mirror universe from Star Trek where they're all evil and go around enslaving and murdering people :D

oh also, if steve took me on solo in his vaga and me in my scorp, I'd lose .. badly and very quickly :D

We keep saying over and over again in this thread that 0.0 space is the place to be. You know you want to, you know what to do (if not ask Dym), and I can nearly guarantee you won't regret it one iota.

The first week or fortnight you might be thinking "Did I make the right choice?" and find it hard to just "do stuff" but after that, it's all good :D

That's how it was for me and a few others I know :)

And as I said to someone else in local last night, I am waiting until dym comes back so I can wind him up until he wants rid of me. :D

You can survive it with max skills, even more so with that Structure tanking is now fixed.
