Great thread lads keep it up. Sounds like an excellent game, I would love to play it but no doubt it will take up too much of my life as these games tend to do.

How much does it cost to play BTW?

I pay every 6 months cause its cheaper and i pay £61 every 6 months with the current exchange rate.

hey guys,

ive been playing for a couple of months now, and i finally got my first BS a couple of weeks ago.

Having never done PvP (i know im sad :P) i was wondering if someone could suggest a good PvP set up for a Raven.

Isk isnt a really problem, so all ideas are welcome :D

Cheers.

well
I'd not use a reven right away, as your going to lose it, INSTANTLY.
have you trained up all your missile skills?
if not then go back to cruisers. or a ferox.
if your going to PVP your better off in a T2 frig/cruiser than a BS, assault craft have the damage resist bonus that will come in SO handy, and you can keep those pesky amarr off your tail (they do mostly EM and thermal damage and guess what the wolf (minny assault frig) has a bonus against?).
also it will save you about 125mill isk in ship and another however much in fittings?

got insurance?

Dosen't really matter that ISK a problem (but feel free to sent me some :D)

It's about being able to use your ship to it's best ability, are you in a corp?
You could try having a Frigate fight or a Cruiser fight to the death, Or go into a low sec system and pick a fight with the people who are killing rats in there.

*Too slow :(

i agree with the above comments, its best to pvp in the smaller ships untill you are used to it... and even then, i would only start pvping in a BS if i had a spare billion isk lying around :p

Golden rule
Never PvP in a ship unless you're prepared to lose it. If you can't afford to lose it, don't fight in it.

Yesterday I took a Domi out to PvP. I deliberately insured it right before undocking because I "didn't expect it to last 2 minutes" against the hostiles. It lasted 3 minutes, which was a nice bonus :D

K.

I still PVP in frigs because I can't afford the ISK loss of a BS... not the BS itself but the modules to fit it out can mean quite a shortfall from the insurance.

At least in a frig I'm never "primary". :o

Unless you are a tackler. :)

A t2 kitted out bs, lose it and it's about 250mill lost.

Wolf is awesome, but the retribution has better resis stats, so am gonna be training for that soon aswell as having t2 lasers and t2 projo's means I can swap and change as the situation requires :D

Good choice, I can take on dual battleships spawns in my tanked Retribution
