The *Official* Eve Online Thread

Mining is pretty straightforward in a Dominix, especially if you're mining in secure space.

High
6 x Miner IIs

Mid
1 x 100MN AB
4 x Cap Rechargers, use the best named you can find.

Low
1 x large armour repairer
2 x hardeners, these can be passive or active, doesn't really matter in secure space, just taylor them to the type of rats you're tanking
2 or 3 cap power relays
1 or 2 cargo expanders (depending on how many CPRs you fit)

Drone bay
As many mining drones as you can control.

This will allow you to tank anything empire spawns can throw at you with no cap problems. You have an AB to get around the belt fairly quickly and expanders so that you don't have to drag ore to a jet can quite so often.

NPCing is somewhat different and your fitting will vary dramatically depending on what type of rats you're up against.

A basic Angel setup (angels deal all types of damage) would be 6 x 720mm projectiles, 5 x Cap Recharger II, 2 x Large armour repairer II, 1 x exposive, 1 x kinetic, 1 x thermal hardeners, 2 x Cap power relays.

For Sanshas, 6 x heavy beam lasers, 5 x cap recharger II, 1 x Large armour repairer II, 3 x thermal, 2 x EM hardeners, 1 x Cap power relay.

I run modified versions of the above, with slightly different fittings because of my uber cap skills but that's two basic setups for NPCing in belts in 0.0

PvP
Never used my Domi for PvP, I jump into Doris instead.

I shall have to ask you guys what your recommended setups are then:

Mining
NPC Missions
PVP

PvP rather depends on the role you want. There are just too many for decent descriptions. Tank, gank, tackle, snipe etc. etc.

Good luck with your first battleship. I'm not even going to bother training for one yet. I'm going to get a lot of the related skills to level 4-5 before I get in it. It'll be a hell of a kick in the face to lose it.

when someone mentions 4/10 is that for the website that shows complexity of agent missions.

I'm flying around in a merlin atm and loving missiles as I only just got the skill.

Saving up for a osprey so I can do a bit of mining. I quite like look of the Cormorant destoyer as well though but doubt I can mine and make bucks in that.

Although I havent a hauler at all so no idea if it's even possible to be profitable with just the osprey.

4/10 mentions the NPC Complex difficulty. A complex is basically a deadspace pocket where you can go through a series of gates to blow things up. The complexes range from 1-10. 1 being completable in a pretty low end frigate, 10 being impossible to a small gang. Going through these gates, you can collect bounty and loot. Often there is a secret last stage for which you need a key, usually a pirate dog tag. The ship which has this tag very rarely shows up and people camp the gate waiting for him.

Sometimes in a complex a high ranking NPC can drop a specialised one run BPC for a faction ship such as a Worm.

The first Capital class ship has been destroyed in Eve. VI's Dreadnaught, the Moros, that showcased in their video showing off their marvel was lost to a gang of about 20 NSBI battleships when a gate camp of theirs went wrong. VI put a warp bubble up, NBSI warped in and ended up in the bubble, then the Moros warped in, but ended up in the bubble as well. Light Darkness was the pilot. The Dread lasted about 1 minute under concentrated fire once the support battleships were destroyed.

In the high level complexes (I don't have info about the low ones, never done them) none of the level are "secret". The key is dropped by either a stage 'boss' or a building in the previous level and the respawn rates are well known, normally 4-5 hours on our local 7/10 and every 7 hours or so on the 10/10.

A 6/10 recently dropped a Nightmare BPC, a 7/10 recently dropped a Cynabal BPC and has also been known to drop a Machariel BPC and the Machariel drops fairly regularly in the 10/10.

High level complexes normally drop decent loot in the last stage - Good named faction modules.

Anyone having any problems with Eve?

All tonight its been a nightmare to play, basically massive lag. Up to 10 seconds for agent conversations to come up, I'll click fit to active ship in fitting and it'll sit there and do nothing for 25 seconds before suddenly processing all the commands I've given it, travelling around is a pain as well - Autopilot jumps through the gate, but... I just stay there. Then autopilot jumps again, and again, before it finally works..

For the short time I've been on it was okay, and no major hassles. I suspect whats probably happening is the regions 0.0 sector of space virtually linked to the system you're in (processed on the same server) are probably being busy. It doesn't happen that often, generally the load is fairly well spread out, but occasionally it can be a complete pain. Try moving on to a different region of empire space, like 5~10 jumps away.

I've moved back to Gallente space for a bit to do agent missions, I've been told I'll get to Level 2's quicker if I do missions for my home area.

Fox try Erenta II M2 Home Guard Assembly Plant: You can work for an agent there that will then give you 2 level 2 agents in that station (great for getting money through missions quick if you do 2 at a time) Alternatively there is the low quality agent in the Spacelane plant back at base.

If you havent I suggest you train Social 3 and Connections 3, that makes a big difference to your standings.

O BTW I just bought 14 hauls worth of stuff forgetting the volume and assuming it would only take me 4 or 5 trips
