Not fooled by Reem's physique, I've followed him since before I watched M.M.A.

If Reem lands the jab, hook, straight, headkick, gets a clinch, or even steps in the cage it's probably over.

;)

You felt the same about Chaels rematch with Silva, that didn't turn out to well either.

Reems main problem is his chin it's not terrible (he isn't arlovski) but it's not that great either (he is no Hendo), no amount of bulking up on "horse meat" is going to change that.

He couldn't take the sort of shots that Nelson was taking I don't think.

Super Fight League (India based MMA promotion) have their own version of TUF:

I actually found it quite watchable and more entertaining than most recent TUF episodes I've seen; it's obvious that MMA is at an embryonic stage in India and watching this was a bit like going back in time to the early days of UFC when most of the fighters were only trained in one traditional martial art, some of whoms credentials were somewhat dubious... :p

you followed him before you watched mma? surprising youd of heard of him

while good proportions of your second statement are true they hold true for most heavyweights. the size and power of these guys with tiny gloves mean one big hit is all you need in fact not even that. just a glancing blow is enough. when the heavyweights meet its a tense bout to watch for me.

im an overeem fan myself. the child in me loves his superhero size and his exploits in k1 were brilliant (even if he did bend the rules a bit) his demolition of brock was expected but i just think jds has the edge for me (he has faced the better opponents lately)

Overeems only weakness is his chin, otherwise he is godmode. You can't really compare him to Nelson as Nelson hardly moves or strikes like Reem, Reem won't get hit anywhere near as much.

I remember watching a KO montage back in about 03 on the YouTube, and loved it, Reem got KO'd by Parris I think? Not too sure as it was a very long time ago. Most of the montage was Baukaw, but something about Reem stuck, I just think it was the way he looked (no homo), he looked like a superhero from Teen Titans or something. :p

Then I started watching Dream and PRIDE with him in it, but thought it was abit gay (grown up though, and saw the error of my ways) and tbh, even for a middleweight in PRIDE (which is a weight he blatantly did not suit) he still was a killer, he lost to the absolute best of that era and lost well. Reem at 205 is like if GSP was at 155, just isn't their weight, since moving up to HW in 06/07 I think, hes absolutely ran through everything.

didnt know gsp had fought at 155. i do like reem just think he hasnt faced a top hw yet

that would be crazy if he did... actually not that much :)

Anyhow this weekends card looks good, anyone reckon frankie can get his belt back from bendo ?

I think Frankie has shown you can never rule him out.

I think Bendo will defend it, but wouldn't be surprised if Frankie got the win.

I really think Bendo will put Frankie away this time and not leave it to the judges. Frankie has been on the verge of getting knocked out so many times and just recovered on time, Bendo is too strong and has too much for him.

I was talking examples, could you imagine if he did? It just isn't his weight, hes naturally suited to having a lot of muscle on his frame and for his height, Reem is the same, pre heavyweight Reem was a completely different fighter.

I'm not so sure, the quality of opponent he has faced since moving to heavyweight has been very poor at times.

Out of 13 fights at heavyweight he has only faced two top ten fighters over that time. A very poor Brock was one of them and a terrible fight against Werdum.

Back when he was lhw he was fighting a far better class of fighter in Pride, Chuck, Shogun, Arona, Little nog. I'm not convinced a guy who has 2 top ten wins is beating Dos Santos.

doubt reems muscle mass is natural

this is one good looking card, lots of pick ems and hopefully hendo defends his belt and gets nate next ! cos that will be epic....

frankie needs to move down...and be a terror else where, he can loose weight easily and then own lower classes easily.

anyhow will be fun to see cerroney kicking and punching his m8 apart and best of all they get paid for it lol

If he dropped 10 you reckon he could beat Aldo?
