Yes and never everyone against Jones on there is someone who costs the ufc money.

The better fighters tend to disagree. and that's only a select few.

Just because dana puts on a crap card with one headline fight and has to cancel does not make it jones fault.

If those fighter fighting below Jones on the card were pulling in the money, it would not need to be cancelled they would just swap main events. But look at the card, it's a poor card to start with apart from the main event. Most of those fighters on the card would cost the ufc money to put them on the card.

This is more of a boxing card that a traditional mma card. 1 main fight and a lot of fill ins where traditionally a mma card is stacked top to bottom Dana and his cost cutting.

Sonnen is going to love this....

Don't understand why they've just cancelled the show... Just put it out for free on FX or something if the rest of the card can't hold a PPV.

I feel for the other fighters on the card ... Just sucks.

Agree it could have gone free but you can not blame jones as much for that;) and take the blame off yourself.

Also it could work in the ufc favour, as I can see the next card selling very well.

As now they have created a even bigger heal.

He should have taken the fight, turning down a fight with a lower weight guy when he has been in training is shocking.

He's a fighter that's his job, I feel sorry for all the lower card fighters who needed the money from this event. Jones just got a payday from Nike so they money will not matter as much to him.

The UFC will be raging about this and Jones will get no favors in the future after this.

Think I might pull a Jon Jones at work tomorrow and turn down any work that comes my way.

Good enough for ol' Bones, good enough for me.

Interesting point at 26:00 in that video.

"If Jones ducks Machida too. We'll have another conference call, and it wont be good news."

I really hope he ducks him too so UFC can get rid.

He's doing it wrong.

Bell and End?

Meh becoming more like boxing every day.

Fighters cherry picking who they want

 This is the first time it's happened.

When every single fighter, judge and ref are paid to decide the outcome of the fight, then you can accuse it of becoming boxing.

Also, from Joe Lauzons blog

Not only has this screwed over all the fans that bought tickets, non refundable airfare, took off work, made arrangements, etc... but think of all the fighters. Fighters that put in full camps, flew people in that helped them trains, etc. By the time I am actually fight, I spend close to 20k between corners, flights, expenses, coaches, etc... and then to have the whole show cancelled because ONE guy didn't want to fight. This ONE guy that had trained an entire camp, who was the CHAMP and at the top of his weight class, who was going to fight someone who didn't do the camp, and was fighting UP a weight class.

Anyway, in other news Frankie Edgar is going to move down to 145.

Also, this.

Well done Jon Jones you haven't only ****ed off the hand that feeds you, you have also killed off some of your fan base. No doubt he is going to regret this some where down the line.

[Insert slow clap here]

If I was a big name UFC fighter, i.e Griffin, Sonnen, Jones etc. I'd pay the lower down fighters who only get income from fighting, most of those guys are actually screwed now, and a few hundred thousand isn't a dent in their pockets when the main carders get millions in event %.

Imagine the PR and praise you'd get doing something that epic, it'd pay off in the long run even if you weren't generous and needed an actual reason to do it. Not that it should be an issue though, Dana should still pay them... a hundred thousand or so is absolutely nothing to a company like UFC, yet it's the difference between these fighters children having clothes. Disgusting.

I think under Nevada state athletic commission the UFC has to pay out agreed fees. The fighters don't get bonuses or sponsorship where most of them make their living however.

Don't blame Jones really for turning down the fight, and I'm not a fan. A lot to lose and little to nothing to gain.

Little to nothing to gain?

His name is dirt now; he has lost the respect of the fans, his peers and his boss.

He has lost far more by turning down the fight than he ever stood to lose by accepting it.

I can understand Machida turning it down, he lost to Bones when he had a full camp behind him and so is likely to lose again taking it on such short notice.

Bones has had a camp and is ready to fight, he should have accepted whoever they offered him first.

I hope Belfort knocks him out, he might regret not choosing to fight Sonnen then lol.
