Hmmm nah I can't see it at all, Belfort has way faster hands with way more power.

He will come back with a vengeance after that incredibly poor showing against Silva.

Re: Spitsbing & his tainted victory

Joe:

If you get a chance to talk with him, please mention to your idiot-in-residence Michael Spitsbing it’ll be a little tougher to knee ME in the head when I’m charging at him like a runaway train and mincing him through the fence like a boiled potato, should we ever have the pleasure of each other’s company for a few (VERY few) moments in the Octagon.

Oh; and I’d suggest to him being a little careful about spitting on any of MY cornermen, since any one of them can beat him up as badly as I can. Thanks ever so much.
Hope all is well.

-Chael Sonnen

Email from Chael Sonnen to Joe Silva.

Easy fight for Chael if he gets offered this.

Lol, not sure how legit that email is, but it does sound like something Troll Sonnen would send.

Would be an interesting fight, i'd probably pick Sonnen but wouldnt be surprised if Bisping triangles him though. Chael seems to have some sort of fixation of sticking his head into the balls of his opponents :D

Don't like the idea of Bisping Vs Sonnen, would be a re-run of the Evans fight less the constant getting up from the takedown.

Did anybody else watch Kampmann vs Sanchez last night?

I'd like to discuss but don't want to ruin it for those who haven't :)

I won't give anything away but yes awesome fight, the main event that is.

I thought Kampmann should have got the decision tbh, he easily won 1st and I would argue the 2nd too. 3rd was Sanchez I think. <-- Highlight for more detailed discussion *SPOILER*

This was indeed epic.

I totally agree with the decision, don't understand how people think Kampmann could have won.

Watched it earlier and tbh I was expecting Kampman to win although had picked Sanchez to win before fight started, thought he looked amazing in his last fight.

Had kampmann winning the first, edging the second and Sanchez the third. Diego definately was pushing the fight but thought kampmann landed more although don't think his back pedalling helped him. Kept the fight standing by stuffing constant takedowns attempts.

Super fight though, Diego definately has the heart of lion of an albeit slightly flabby one. :)

Possibly. Although for now Dana says that they are staying as 2 separate companies. You won't see Strikeforce fighters in the UFC or vice-versa.
I think this is probably to do with terms in all the fighters contracts. But once most of them are up in a couple of years, I expect to see a merger.

I see this as bad news.

Yes give it a couple of year for contract and tv rights to expire, then the merger is inevitable.

Less organisations equals a smaller talent pool, as i can see the ufc only putting on 3-4 extra shows per year once they have merged, thus not needing a lot of fighters.

Well if you take Dana's word for it, he eventually wants to put on a show at least once a week.

So around 10 or so more per year

But what happens to top level fighters like Paul Daley (yes some of his actions are not the best) Dan Henderson, josh Barnet, fedor emelianenko, etc
