Well according to the interview Dana gave about the Strikeforce acquisition. Strikeforce will remain as a separate company and Scott Coker will continue to run it.

Dana said that yes he has problems with the people you named, but their deals are with Strikeforce/Coker, not with him.

I'm aware what Dana says and what Dana does;). I have been following mma for over 10 years, it's sad to see the last major competitor going .

Running two companies doing in effect the same thing, is not very cost effective. The other angle he could work it would be strikeforce is for up and coming fighters, but i can not see this happening. But at the end of the day business is business, and they will do what's best for them financially.

As soon as tv contracts are up, and fighter contracts are gone we will see what happens. My money is within a year of this happening they will be merged.

bad news

more competition the better and strikeforce as of late have put on some decent shows :(

So many fighters will end up getting dropped they are already due to the WEC/UFC thing, ok we might get to see a different match up for fighters but them being apart is quite nice, its refreshing to watch something other than just UFC. Same goes for WEC I use to enjoy their events, we will see less of them now surely as there will be so many fighters now.

Does this mean we will have loads of title fights now as they try and unify them? Overeem vs Cain?

Also does this mean end of Fedor when they eventually merge? Dana is never going to do any business with M1, ever.

Anything I'd like to see is less of Goldberg and throw in a fighter along side Joe Rogan for their perspective of the fight, they do it in strike force and its nice to listen to a pro talk instead of the walking bill board.

We have it lucky though its like $40-$50 for a PPV in America? And they will be doing shows every 2 weeks or every week :o

I loved the WEC when Frank Mir commentated for them

Indeed jrwagh333 love him or hate him Mir was great on that show he gives you something they can't, a fighters view on it all.
He spoke about how to transition, how to get out of it, what to be careful of etc... was a great insight.

I personally can't stand Goldberg he brings nothing to UFC at all, his knowledge of the sport seems to be what is written on his bit of paper.
What amuses me is when he points something out, something glaringly obvious he runs with it "Like I said Joe". Yeah we can all see it you tit.

The plus side to this at least is to stop some of the debate about which organisation has the better fighters especially the HW side that is quite stacked in both divisions.

Not sure how it can't be seen as anti competitive though when Zuffa have acquired WEC and now Strikeforce :s

its such a shame the ufc has bought SF out.

a lot of people will be dropped once the contracts have ran out, and then we will be left with just the ufc putting on shows which is an awful outcome for fans imho.

in mixed minds about the purchase feels like Nvidia just brought out AMD or Intel brought AMD, but yeah give it another year or 2 and once the guys and girls! contracts are up we gonna see a merger just like with WEC.

Its bad sometimes having just one brand name for MMA and UFC is it now... the smaller shows will still go on no doubt.

Yeah seems Henderson champ is saying all is good he doesnt see it as a bad thing and doesnt mind fighting for ufc/strikeforce, naturally as Dana said he wanted to remain seperate from strikeforce and from daley and now clearly isnt lol

I reckon the strike force tourney, and all the fedor and overeem talk of being the best no1/heavyweight and Diaz saying hes no1 and how ufcs heavyweights are a mess etc, and then recession.... it just all piled on and Dana said **** it lets buy it !

I think Strikeforce was gaining momentum and putting on exciting cards, UFC thought lets nip this in the bud now.

I think it's going to be merged as soon as contracts are up, least I hope we can see Randy Vs Fedor before Randy retires :)

i dont think fedor will be fighting in the UFC, and i think he would destroy couture.
i think the buzz around the SFHW tourney and that the ufc's HW division is a bit weak atm started to shift interest to strikeforce instead of the ufc. theres a rumour too, that because of the cost of signing fedor's last contract through M1 global, strikeforce was having to get more investments, so it would be an easy time for Coker and gang to sell up.
im just hoping that the tournament finishes asap.

Randy can go to Strikeforce then :)

I think Fedor would win, but still Randy has wanted this fight for a long time win/lose/draw it's a good fight to retire on.

Randy can go fight Ryan couture.... it was dana who said just cos your in the same camp it doesnt matter;)

I think Fedors now officaly done... he could have still done well at lightweight but now that his weak ground game is exposed and suffering the losses I reckon its time to move on, UFC proberly doesnt want to bother either...

Overeem VS Cain ?

Hasn't Dana White said no fighters are moving though? I think they are planning to operate them (UFC and Strikeforce) as two seperate entities. Theres a video somewhere where someone interviews Diane about it and he just says "BUSINESS AS USUAL", "BUSINESS AS USUAL" and then "BUSINESS AS USUAL" about a hundred more times.

yes, it will be business as usual only up until all of the strikeforce contracts are up, then im sure we will see strikeforce vanish and cherry picked fighters going over to the ufc.

heeheehee.... the comedy of it all.....

Fedor at lightweight, erm - no! Weak ground game, erm - no! UFC dont want to bother with the universally recognised best MMA fighter for the last decade, erm - NO!

Just google Fedor's history - I think you will find that 2 losses (against decent opposition) wont mean he will call it a day!
