Yeap tis the issue get a lot of gut feelings that the fight could go either way...

I got one saying Josh is gonna loose tommorow :)

I almost bet on Shane ending the fight with JDS in round 1, that would have been a lot of money.... I mean 2 guys that finish fights praticly everytime in round 1, and how wrong I was on both accounts !

Its a shame one has to bet the 3k+ just too see a decent worth while return though, but I guess betting with the bookies and on a sure win one could build up quite a lot of money if they wanted... heck id rather forget about working full time and just bet 3k on Overeem and get a months payslip for 5 minutes work rather then dieing in retail Customer services for a month;)

SPOILERS

Was an OK event Noons got schooled, Cormier looked decent and Barnett stuck to his game plan perfectly.

Overeem started off quite well shrugging off every take down attempt with complete ease and tossing Werdum about but he ate more shots than I was expecting and didn't do enough when it was standing. Think he was really scared of being taken down I remember 1 leg kick and Werdum grabbed it right away.
Against Bigfoot it's going to be tough might put a cheeky bet on him to win the entire thing.

Yeah was surprising, Uberweem didnt do a heck of a lot during that fight while werdum did a lot during that fight its just that uberweem was able to control the fight and take downs just by throwing werdum about lol

I think uberweem vs big foot is gonna be a close one on the betting side, and Barnett was impressive I think if anything this guy might win the whole grand prix :)

Definatly gonna start doing some major betting on the next Events but I hear the grand prix is gonna continue this fall if not next year ?

Yeah I can see Barnett going the distance..

Not that I like his style but he is very effective at applying it..
He completely shut out Rodgers.. I would have like to see Barnett meet Fedor at some point.. that would have been an interesting match of styles!

Overeeeeeem seemed very confident to me.. and while I think he won the fight I'm not entirely convinced by his showing. How many times was he hit through his blocking during standup.. he was eating the punches.. but if it had of been a bigger hitter then he may have been in trouble.. Silva could technically beat him on that alone.. before it went to the ground.

The most shocking thing for me about the whole event was.. Mauro Ranallo's baldness.. where did his hair go? Is he ill??

Yeah I am looking forward to Fedor vs Hernderson fight should be a cracker.

Regarding Overeem and taking punches, reading comments on a few sites and people have basically saying maybe its all that K1 he has been doing? If anyone watches that and him he blocks so much or just walks through them to land his shots its a bad habbit he needs to stop.

Versus Bigfoot it could go either way I think Bigfoot will try and stand and fight which will play in to Overeems game buuut Bigfoot is also mahoosive and he won't be able to throw him around like he normally can. Certainly won't be able to eat shots like that all the time.

yeah read that steve coker said the next events this fall ?

Shoulda been called Snail grand prix....I fail too see if there healthy and able to fight that we should have to wait another 5-6 months too see it continue !

Uberween has apologised for his lackluster performance, he has stated he was not at all happy with that fight if anything everyone now sees just how good Werdum is and I dont think anyone is ever.... gonna play his game, if anything we got to see that Werdum and Uberweem have perhaps a long way to get into the elite heavyweights
having said that it could have just been a bad night :)

As for Fedor v Hendo.... will be awesome but I feel Hendo will take the win, the bookies are totaly against it though ! It almost feels like strikeforce have put up this fight purely to get Fedor to "greatness" again... but hendo himself is a champion should be a cracker !

I think you are all underestimating Fedor, he had 2 losses in a row. 1 because he stupidly jumped in the guard of probably the best HW submission guy there is right now, and 2 got manhandled by a 265+ heavyweight with a decent ground game himself.

Hardly like he lost to bums, he is going to come in motivated and bigger than Hendo. He has just as much power as Hendo, he is faster and has a better submission game.

He has beaten far better wrestlers than Hendo in the past.

It should be a competitive fight but I see Fedor winning.

Definitely this. Hendo is a very one dimensional fighter. Fedor is also the greatest of all time, so i would never ever count him out. I'm not counting Hendo out, i just dont see why he would be the favourite at all.

i take it you dont actually gamble a lot?

there is no way you could make a living off gambling, especially on "sure bets"

Yup figured it was wishful more like fantasy feeling :)

Would be so nice to not have to work for a living and just make money off your favorite sport ;)

Even in the case of Overweem vs Werdum fight, bookies gave overweem pretty much the garranteed win but even in the fight or in any MMA fight it can go either way.

Loosing 3k would be a disaster and take ages to rebuild...

Still id like to perhaps start gambling and see how it goes lol
