Im glad JDS retains his no1 contender spot.... the guy was not scared to loose his place and id bet if Cain does get injured he would still take another fight easily, just shows you who the real no1 guy is.

Considering Cains hands are like just as powerful and fast... against the powerful JDS boxing hands, you couldnt ask for a better match up this fall.

But what happens to the 3 other heavyweights in carwin, brock and mir ? Are they gonna cut weight and get slimmer arms/hands ;)

dunno how I missed that, perhaps GSP needs 8 rounds before he decides to finish a fight ;)

Yea...I want a rule that says championship fights must be finished.

GSP needs a kick up the arse.....I don't want to see you jab someone to death or take them down and lay on top of them.....
He hasn't finished a fight since he won the belt.

Yea, JDS is awesome for wanting to do his job. Some other fighters should do the same.

Mir is looking better and better, want to see him take on Brock again.

Heavyweights need a good Muay Thai guy in the mix, Crocop is past it and Kongo just doesn't look up to par.

Pat Barry is your man for MT. When he is switched on, and wants to turn it on, there is nobody that can stand with him imo. He just seems to lack the edge to turn him into a world beater (on the feet)

On a side note, once again, JDS confirms he is the real deal.

I would like to see a match up of Carwin vs Roy. Both were out boxed by JDS. Roy has a solid enough chin to take Carwins power and Carwins take down defence should stop Roy. Seeing as they are both about as slow as I am it might just turn out to be a contest of who hits the hardest.

Well theres no one much left in the ufc hw division.... Brocks gonna take 6-12 months or more, Carwins face looks like it needs 6 months to heal.

Roy will need at least 6-12 months of hard work to loose the belly or just stop eating cheese burgers and get serious...

Frank Mir was right, hes more then likely no1 contender and if JDS or Cain get injured.... hes up !

brendan schaub is still a good 1-3 fights away imo, Pat barry needs to stop huggin ufc legends and become one.

I think nows a good time to arrange superfights between sf hws and ufc hws, theres no one much left to go up agains jds let alone cain, I say let Overeem ripp loose on UFC I would love to be prooved wrong if he really is no1 hw out there right now :)

Anybody else ordered this weekends Strikeforce event yet?

I'm more excited for it than I have been for any UFC for quite some time!

Yeah for some reason I thought this strikeforce event was in july.... had no idea that we would be seeing Overeem and Werdum and Josh vs Rogers this weekend !

Should be more impressive then ufcs last event, not saying it wasnt bad but it could have done with a few more decent cards.

Im predicting Overeem will not even bother to go on the floor or within Werdums guard or let him grab an ankle, he will proberly keep his distance and kick box or power punch Werdums face to the matt or break his legs :)

I see Josh loosing, plenty of talk but Brett Rogers is just a beast.

Should be a fun event regardless :)

Don't see Josh losing, as long as he is sensible and takes him down subs/gnps him he shouldn't have a problem, he is a shark on the ground.

That's how I see it going also; classic grappler versus striker match-up and I don't think Rogers can stop Barnett's takedowns.

yeah bookies seem to agree, Overeem and Josh are top pickers...

Ive been considering going into some major betting.... but im still new to it. Seems you would have to put in a good 3k on overeem or Josh just to even make 1k even.

Is it always better to book with the bookies or against?

Seems in MMA it can be a total toss up on which way it goes, what if werdum does some freaky submission ? Hes had one year to pratice taking down giant muscle bound beastmen but I guess its highly unlikely he can get anyone to mimic Overeem !

It's always better to bet on the winner! :p

Most of the time the favourite wins, even in MMA with all its variables; in last weekend's UFC for example all 5 fights on the main card were won by the bookies favourite.

You won't see much return from betting on favourites but if you parlay a few together you will get a good return if they all perform as expected.

And of course if you do have a feeling an upset is on the cards you can make big bank by betting on it; I had a funny feeling that Werdum was going to pull off the win against Fedor, then kicked myself afterwards that I didn't put money on it.
