**The Official Everything MMA Related Thread**

All I can say is UFC is going from strength to strength you look at the events coming up shortly all have some incredible match up and potentially some epic fights.

ufc have done so well lately and for July.... nadda !

Has anyone else noticed we got no UFC events for this entire month, and then not one.... but 3 UFC events in August !

I guess we still got a ufc/strikeforce event end of this month with hendo vs Fedor...

I think they schedule them around the big American events, guess theres something big going off in NFL, Baseball, Basketball or something like that for them to not have any events for a month?

What weight is the Hendo v Fedor fight at? Hendo normally fights at 205 no? Fedor is about 225?? Is Fedor coming down to light heavy? Whatever it is I can't wait to see Hendo sparked out. After his cheap shot on Bisping I'd love to see karma come back to bite him.

I think its gonna be hendo thats moving up slightly in weight to 220...

I dont think anyone can count either guy out, while this matchup does look like its designed too see a guy like hendo get knocked out silly and just to see Fedors hands raised you cant count out the h bomb, it was hendo who asked for this fight also...

Hendo showed us he had some good experience in his last fight, stopping the take downs and being very coy off his back, striking as always and h bomb follow up even showed some decent grappling and good work in all areas, so should be a great match.

It's a 220lb catchweight so Hendo will probably weigh his usual 205, don't see him bothering to put on mass just for this fight it would slow him down too much.

I think it's more for Fedor to get into decent shape, and then hopefully continue down to 205 after the fight.

I agree that you can't discount Hendo. He seems to be fighting smarter these days. In fact I'd lay odds that he's going to try and take Fedor down and beat on him a bit. But Fedor has quicker hands in general I think and Hendo is not averse to swapping a few if he thinks his bomb will land.

I think it's going to be one of those fights that completely depend on the mind set of the fighters going in, especially Hendo. Fedor will start as he always does I think. I can't remember the last time I saw him throw a jab instead of a hook or cross. It will be very interesting to see how Hendo decides to answer.

Is a very interesting and exciting fight that is for sure :)

ahh so hendo will be about the same weight, seems confusing what weight either would be it would be nice to see fedor go down in weight he would be a force to be reckoned with I just think people saw fedor as a small guy taking on giants and still coming up tops.... like it almost reminded one of the gracie golden days of ufc1 :)

Either way should be a great fight which will proberly end in round 1

Chael Sonnen Vs Brian Stann on the cards for october, Should be a good fight, See how Stann deals with a great wrestler,

and Chaels twitter!

"I ask Brazil for a fight, and Machida answers.I ask for a REAL fight, and a Marine steps up.I see you hiding Lyoto, and I won't forget this."

Don't quite understand his twitter post :/ Machida said he would love to fight him and was happy to sign for that fight.

I don't think the UFC wanted that fight as where would it put the winner, if Machida won he beat a 185'er if Chael won yeah he beat a 205'er who isn't a contender in his division.

Stann is much better fight and I see the winner getting a title shot, think Chael takes this. Too much wrestling for Stann.

Nice Trailer, theres still gonna be many incredible fights for 2011, Rampage vs Bones, Diaz vs GSP, JDS vs Cain and hopefully Edgar Vs Gray.

Just such a shame theres no MMA action this month well Hendo vs Fedor right at the end of this summer.

That's a very interesting match-up. GSP fights not to lose, he doesn't like taking the slightest risk, so he takes down strikers and leg humps them for 5 rounds or he strikes with noted wrestlers. Diaz is a BJJ beast, well capable of subbing Georges if he's down too long and he also is more than capable of knocking him out. He has a deceptively hard punch - ask Paul Daley.

Both are cardio machines, Diaz does triathons for fun and I haven't seen GSP even near to gassing in any match. I think GSP has the upper hand in foot movement, especially controlling the distance between the fighters. For my money, I think GSP will try to stick and move looking for cuts to open, only taking the takedown if it's on a plate. If he's not getting joy there, I can see him try for multiple takedowns to take the points.

Diaz's gameplan? Probably to provoke GSP into a slugfest although I can't see that happening. Maybe he'll try to crowd GSP against the cage and take him down. I think I heard Joe Rogan say that GSP has only ever been on his back for something like 2 mins in his whole UFC career, the longest period of which was like 30 seconds. Certainly he's never had a bit of a hiding on the bottom. Maybe Diaz will try that and hope he panics long enough to slap a sub on.

I really don't care who wins this one, but I'll probably root for Diaz. He's a gobby chav, but he's one hell of a fighter.

/BIG SIGH

Phil Davis injured and out of main event at 133.

Tito and Machida were offered to fight Rashad but both declined. Looks like we're going to be waiting some more to see Rashad fight again.

Phil Davis Out Of UFC 133 Main Event Against Rashad Evans !

ufc apparantly asked tito to replace but he said no.... and now there asking....

Lyoto Machida !

Cant think of a better fight really Part II is bound to be a great fight both fighters have come back from the bottom and Rashad has improved heaps hes copied the Dragons elusive Counter style, hes borrowed Coutures grappling style and GSPs seemless transition between strikes and take down moves.

Would love too see part 2 fight would be a close one but id give it to Rashad due to speed alone!
