Khamzat is physically a scarier guy than Khabib. I really hope someone knocks him out sometime soon to dent that shroud of invincibility!

Underwhelming but Islam making Hooker look like a jobber on the ground, I was hoping that’d be more of a scrap.

Yeah, that was embarrassing for Dan Hooker. if I were him I would have really just danced around and kept him at a distance with jabs for the first round. The moment he tried a reasonably heavy telegraphed kick so early in the fight he left himself completely open to a takedown. It was just a bad call that I did not expect him to make if he had prepared so well and I bet he is going to be so so disappointed in himself at getting taken down and tapped so quickly.

Everything's easy in hindsight from your armchair :p

So you think it was smart of him to do that heavy telegraphed kick against a consummate grappler that he knows is looking for exactly those chances for an early takedown and submission?

For someone who was giving it large about what he was going to do, that is low fight IQ and you could tell from his face that he knew it. None of us have to be MMA fighters to notice bad mistakes, just as you don't have to be a footballer to see mistakes that players make. Same applies to any sport.

Sandhagen started using reach and movement extremely well was getting a bit flat footed towards end of round though, bit of overconfidence creeping in.. expecting Yan to go spartan !

Yeah, I am impressed with Sandhagens speed and the pressure he is putting Jan under, but Jan bided his time and that spinning backfist was a money shot. Also Sandhagens punches have not been so powerful so Jan isn't taking so much wear. I do want Sandhagen to win.

If Sandhagen had more power in his hands I think he could have won that fight. Sadly, he doesn't hit hard enough to put a man like Yan down or even to stun him. Having said that, Yan hit him with a couple of huge shots and Sandhagen ate them like a champ. Such a great fight and I do feel for Sandhagen.

OMFG that is amazing... Jan ragdolled then submitted. I did not expect that and Glover is doing this at 42. Simply outstanding, what a strong and skilled veteran that guy is.

PS: LOL I love Dana's forced grin when a fighter that did something he didn't expect (or likely want) is jabbering at him. You can almost hear his internal voice going "STOPSTOPSTOP". :D

Yan spent round one figuring out what he was up against then never looked in trouble and always looked the more dangerous - good technical fisticuffs that was.

Happy for Glover - a lot of these old boys carry on too long and tarnish their legacy but he deserved that. No idea how long he’ll keep the belt but you can’t say he didn’t deserve finally getting it round his waist.

Mega good card...

Loved it. Yan is a stud, great scrap - 5 rounds of brilliant action.

Pleased for Glover, Jan looked a little off his game but can't fault Glover.

Islam Makhachev again looked great - going to be super hard to stop. Same for Chimaev.

Lerone Murphy looking impressive again - 11 wins & 1 draw....

Hopefully Dana gets the big fight we all want to see sorted quickly....

Hasbulla and Abdu
