One of the most surprising sure, but not sure one off the greatest.
Leon fought badly in every round except round 1, it wasn't even an exciting build up to the final kick. One minute they looked ok squaring off, the next he did that amazing feint and kick and Usman was out cold. I would not say he was a worthy winner after being dominated by Usman for almost 4 rounds. Still, in the end he did get the job done and it's of course nice to have a British champ again!
Fair play - 25 minutes in a championship fight and dug it out the fire.....
Usman fought the perfect fight to that point - but damn what a KO....
Dana will be rubbing his hands - Wembley for the rematch probably!

Wow, awesome result. Yeah he was down, but he stuck with it. 25 minutes in the ring with Usman without a scratch, had the fitness to keep going and stay calm. He hurt Usman more throughout the fight imo, although Usman's wrestling was winning the fight comfortably.
Rematch will be incredibly tough, but Leon has shown he can hurt him. Usman still favourite.

Snoozeman got snoozed. I was feeling so disappointed Edwards got that great first round, taking Usman down and getting his back then just went into his shell for the rest of the fight then he comes out with that at the death.

I thought the same he had his back and didn’t even strike was a very strange round he had a few opportunities to soften him up and maybe get under the neck and pretty much laid there and wasted good opportunities. The next 3 Usman dominanated him but all is forgotten when that final blow lands. Crazy fight, rematch is going to be rough though and Khamzat wants a piece which doesn’t suit Edwards.

Still pretty shook at the result, I watched it the morning after without any idea what had happened. The Mrs was shouting for him to try some kicks like in the first round about 30 seconds before he actually landed the KO
It took about 5 or 6 seconds to even register what we were seeing before we started bouncing around the living room.

I think he stands a better chance in the 2nd rematch, as he has a more recent "feel" for Usman than he did from their first fight.
I assume Usman will basically employ the same game plan, as it worked so well for the majority of the fight, but that gives Leon information to work with - I don't believe Usman will have learnt as much as Leon from their most recent fight.

If Leon really did have issues with his body after the first round I’d expect the rematch to be more competitive, still think it could go either way though you always want the fighter that looks to end the fight rather than point-score to win.
Hopefully he can just put him away again then we can see some movement in the division and Edwards fight the other top guys.

Looking forward to UFC this weekend. Can't wait to see the two BIG fellas tee off. Cyril Gane looks to have everything to make him a champ but lacks that killer instinct they have imo. He looks like a superhero. Reminds me of that bloke that was in that really crap 80's wrestling film with Hulk Hogan . I do think he will beat Tuivasa but you never know with him, can easy spark him out with a single punch.
I do like Whittaker and hope and think he will beat Vettori. Dunno what happens after that like, that division is waiting for Izzy to retire, move up or be beaten. First two aren't going to happen anytime soon and I'd not bet much money on him losing to Pereira.
