Man Volk is as strong as a horse, his wrist control / hand fighting was incredible.

Had it Islam 3-2 at worse, on my rewatch I thought he won first 4 with Volk with 5th.

Both guys come out as winners

Great fight, right decision imo, he did edge it. Rematch plz.

Volk is a beast, but Islam is just that bit more accurate, and his wrestling is unreal, decision making is so fast.

I thought 3-2 also, as did 2 of the judges. I've seen on social media this morning a few of my Aussie mates saying he was robbed. I don't agree with that but I'll re-watch it tonight.
He's a great character and athlete Volk. I really like him and I hate most Aussie sportsmen, especially the vile and unpleasant cricketers. I thought it was very smart for him to take the fight as he went in with little to lose and I think he did better than most people expected. I think he wins the re-match, in fact I think he would have finished him yesterday if there was an extra round. He's got loads of options now, stay at 155 and fight the best of that red hot division, push for a re-match or go back and beat Rodriguez.

Oh man it was such an exciting superfight, I was on the edge of my seat. I think if there was another round then Volk would have edged it, but sadly Islam backpacked him for the 4th which imo should have gone to Volk who was much more active. I would LOVE to see a rematch.
I think that fight just proves Islam will not be the dominant force that Khabib was. Volk takes the rematch.
There is no reason at all that Volk could not have done the same to Khabib, because Islams grappling skill must be within the same ball park. Also Islam is a better striker than Khabib was.

Khabib has a better chin and is much more aggressive with takedowns, ground and pound. Different presssure, whilst Islam seems a bit more technical.

I think Volk is a tough fight for anyone in those weight classes regardless.

Darren Till cut from UFC, sounds a mutual agreement and hopes to be back when he sorts himself out. Really liked Till, lots of potential but typically failed under the spotlight.
Yeah agree. Feel like they fed him to the wolves a bit though. Look how they have brought some of the more recent newcomers through, Paddy Pimlet in particular but there are several who have had a far easier blooding in. Look who Till has fought, all pure killers and former champs. He was comfortably beaten by Whittaker, no shame in that but he looked good. I really hoped that would have spurred him on.
I also think, even though there is some seriously stiff competition, he has the worst tattoo in the UFC. Guess that title is vacated now.

Till just looks like he has lost the desire to fight nowadays.

The Jones vs Gane is an interesting one. Jones has been out for a very long time and I think that will be a big factor in this fight especially against someone like Gane who not only has been active but has some great wins against top guys. I think Jones' route to success is taking Gane down and controlling him on the floor like how Ngannou did as I don't really see Jones hurting Gane standing up. I'm going for a Gane decision win.

Jones looks a bit fat - seems to have struggled putting the weight on in pure muscle without extra help (wink, wink). It may just be me but I don't like him at all, he comes across as really false.

I think Gane will take the decision as I can't see a chubby Jones @ 240+ lbs having the cardio, especially trying to take bigger guys down and holding them there.

I also reckon Shevchenko will take it in 3 and Rakhmonov in 2.

I’m guessing you’re just a casual fan?
