Francis is dumb - no way he's getting more money elsewhere. Maybe a fight against Fury or something might make the big money but he's not getting more MMA money anywhere else.

3 years out the ring and Jones just walks back in title fight at a weight he's never fought at. Ridiculous

Stupid to risk it all on Jones as he will self destruct again fairly soon and Dana will look even more stupid.

If a different promotion pays him 70% of what the UFC offered but then he has options for additional sponsorships etc, I would not say its a dumb decision.
 
I just watched Dana Whites new venture, Power Slap.

It might be good as a side show, but this show is dangerous.

It's not even fair as whoever goes first can knock out the other guy and he might have a weak jaw himself but would win.

Power Slap is a ****ing joke of a 'sport', absolutely ridiculous, there is little about it that can be considered fair or skillful. It's gimmicky BS.

You know it wasn't all about the money... right? Because Francis is objectively anything but dumb and if you think otherwise you have not watched or listened to his interviews and are just spouting BS based on MMA media articles.

This slap fight episode two..

2 guys did illegal slaps one after the other.

First guy who got slapped illegally recovers, and the slapper got a point deducted.

So the guy recovers and does his own illegal slap and the other guy can't get up.

Instead of calling it a draw, they rule because the guy can't get up from an illegal slap, the other guy is DQ'ed and the guy on the floor wins!

So if the first guy should have stayed down as he'd have won.

Worst 'sport' ever... and seeing Dana White laughing with the winner after the other guy got totally knocked out shows his concern for bad knockouts in the UFC is fake.
 
What's the strategy behind electing to receive if you win the coin toss in a slap fight? Had to do a double take when I heard that and of course he goes and gets knocked out on the first slap :cry:

Dana White is a narcissistic wife-beating psychopath, he doesn't give a crap about anything except what benefits him.

UFC and Bellator events happened last night.

The only fight I was watching for really was the Bader vs Fedor 2 fight.

It went as predicted really. I like Fedor but he's made a decision to remain fighting in the style he's always done. Badar was faster than him, and because Fedor is fighting with his hands down, Bader managed to both side step and land punches on Fedor. In the end the fight went to the ground with Bader on top and had Fedor caught were he couldnt defend himself. The ref stopped the fight in the first round.

Fedor retired after the fight.

Anyone see Volk pulling a win off this weekend? I really hope he does it, Islam is huge he must cut so much weight - I'm hoping this is going to go in his favour and we have seen how he escaped Ortegas clutches when it looked like game over. Appreciate Makhachev is a different beast. Very much looking forward to it.
 
Islam to win by some kind of choke in r3 or r4 I think. He will make Volk tired like all his other opponents and try and tap him out. Volk moving up and adding a bit of bulk will likely be a disadvantage to his cardio.
