Re: Spitsbing & his tainted victory

Joe:

If you get a chance to talk with him, please mention to your idiot-in-residence Michael Spitsbing it’ll be a little tougher to knee ME in the head when I’m charging at him like a runaway train and mincing him through the fence like a boiled potato, should we ever have the pleasure of each other’s company for a few (VERY few) moments in the Octagon.

Oh; and I’d suggest to him being a little careful about spitting on any of MY cornermen, since any one of them can beat him up as badly as I can. Thanks ever so much.
Hope all is well.

Email from Chael Sonnen to Joe Silva.

Easy fight for Chael if he gets offered this.

I won't give anything away but yes awesome fight, the main event that is.

I thought Kampmann should have got the decision tbh, he easily won 1st and I would argue the 2nd too. 3rd was Sanchez I think. <-- Highlight for more detailed discussion *SPOILER*

I think Strikeforce was gaining momentum and putting on exciting cards, UFC thought lets nip this in the bud now.

I think it's going to be merged as soon as contracts are up, least I hope we can see Randy Vs Fedor before Randy retires :)

Jones could be champ for a long long time BUT there is still one huge thing we haven't seen yet.

Does he possess a chin? If he has one like Arlovski as soon as it gets discovered he is going to have problems, if his chin is like Henderson's then he is going to be champion until he can't make 205 anymore, or someone new is introduced to the UFC, the current pool of LHW's I don't see as too much of a threat.

I'll be interested to see how Rashad fights him, baring in mind they have trained together for a fair while. If Rashad knew he was going to get destroyed I'm sure he would stay at Jacksons and drop to 185.

The fact he has chosen to leave and take on Jones makes me think he is confident he can beat him, i'll be excited to see how this fight pans out.

I'd also like to see Machida vs Jones.

I can't believe the amount of MMA forums where people are comparing Jones satndup to that of Anderson Silva saying he could dominate him.

If he did any of his crazy jumping spinning crazy stuff Silva would drill him in the face.

That's not to say eventually he could become more Silva'esque he has the perfect body type to strike with people.

What's peoples picks for this weekend?

Can Mr Wonderful beat Lil Nog? As per usual my heart is taking over my head and saying Lil Nog will win, but realistically I think Mr Wonderful is too big and too strong for him, he is another Jon Jones of the LHW division.

His standup isn't as good, but his wrestling is as good and he has better submission skills. Even has the Mr Wonderful sub named after him :)

People are saying it, because he looked the same in the Coleman fight and the same in the Forrest fight, both of which were after knee surgery much like this fight.

I'm not taking the win away from Jones, he would have won anyway. But I think Shogun is capable of putting up a much better fight than he did, if he ever has a rematch I hope to see if there is a difference.

Problem for Shogun is, whilst he is getting back to title shot contention, Bones is just getting even better.

Lots of people are writing Rashad out of the fight, I think he will cause Bones problems.

Although not hugely exciting, if Rashad can press him against the cage and dirty box ala Couture he will wear Jones down. Against the cage he can't use his huge length nor his crazy random standup.

Machida is another interesting test for him as if he chases and throws wasted shots Machida will dart in and counter him hard.

Exciting times ahead for LHW, isn't there always though?!
