I've dabbled a bit with the skills but the skilled dribbling I find the best for getting past a man, sudden shifts in direction and pace are much easier with it.

Normally everything you just said would be true.

In the past FIFA always had the gfx, PES the gameplay, however if I did not know better I would say both development teams just swapped companies. PES looks much better than FIFA in terms of colour and detail, but FIFA's gameplay just blows PES out of the water.

Have to say I agree entirely with this. The only thing that impressed me in the PES demo was the graphics. The player likeness, strips and the pitch texture all looks better than FIFAs, it seems that Konami forgot about the the gameplay however, where as that seems to be the FIFA teams(and rightly so) main focus.
 
I must be alone in thinking Fifa is better looking regards likeness/strips and pitch texture. Going from the PES demo it's bloody crap.

I haven't played the PES demo yet, but I have played FIFA10 (demo) extensively... from all the videos I've seen of PES, FIFA10 looks miles better visually.

Having played both, the player detail on PES is miles better than FIFA. Unfortunately the animation and controls don't even compare.
 
What is the cheapest you can pre order it for? Also how long does it usually take for the price to drop under £30?

seem to be getting a lot of goals that arent very good shots. But they always go in.. its like the goalkeepers blind spot he never saves it. Havent scored a screamer yet. They arent finesse shots right? just power em in?
 
The passing in this game is starting to annoy me. Sometimes you can pass a ball to an open player and it will just go to a CPU player regardless of where your player is standing, the pass power seems to do very little for me :/

I also find it hard to use the skilled dribbling, I can't get past anyone with either skilled dribbling or just changing directions/pace :( After ~25 games played I still lose to the CPU on hard mode
 
the penalty shout outs are a joke when your playing pro mode, i led nearly full game 1-0 and they scored 90+2 then won on panalty shoutouts,then 3 matches after that i drew and lost on pens

I have no idea to be honest, I think it was purely the momentum. What I did like is the fact that I selected the lob control in mid air to poke it over his head, its just so intuitive. The controls are set up so well that it almost be second nature to pull moves off that you intended.

I cant stop raving about this game to everyone that I know who owns an 360 or a PlayS3... I have sold at least 5 copies on just my enthusiasm...Cant wait until we get some competitions going here, just a pity its not cross platform!! oh well you cant have everything ;)

10/10 for Fifa 10 ... take a bow son, take a bow!!
 
i find the easiest way to get past a player is to also use the skilled dribbling most times i get past , but it does depend also on the quality of the player you are using.

as for skilled moves i find it hard to get past players but i think this is because when i attempt the skill move im also running foward , if i slow down and try the skills its sometimes more easy to get past
 
there seems to be an 'easy goal' in this. run diagonally across goal, use right shouler button and shoot. Dont think i have done one that hasnt gone in yet... its even easy to score like this than on 09.

overall though, i like the more pacey gameplay, and like the fact physical attributes come more into play.
