I think that is R1 (or the xbox equivalent) as the ball in coming to you.

Also if you are in enough space flicking the r-stick in the direction you are wanting to go can make your player control the ball so it goes in that direction. Be careful with this though as you can end up losing the ball if you get it wrong :)
 
^^ Also if you time it right flicking the ball in front of you when the opp is coming at you will allow you to skip right past them

I think VP mode is great btw - basically over time your stats adjust to *how* you play the game. Which is perfect :) So if you dont use much ball skills then expect that skill to go down. But the stuff you do use goes up.

Played a few more games online, won 2 out of 3, managed 27 shots with only 9 on target and 1 goal in the last match! My shots seem to just go wide a lot of the time, and if I don't aim for a corner it just gets saved. What sort of power is normal for a shot, guessing it varies for different areas of the pitch.

Passing around waiting for them to commit players was a handy tip, was much easier to work holes into their defence, and trying not to commit my own players out of position meant that it was harder for them to break me down too. Much happier hehe.
 
I have created a Virtual Pro (used online in the OCUK team) is there any way to get that player in my Manager Mode team?
 
When you start Manager Mode you get the option to sign your VP before the season starts. You must have created one first though (obviously).
 
My mate and I came from PES and jumped straight into this on World Class in the manager mode, we've taken Newcastle UTD and are currently running them into the ground. Now I don't know if it just us, but even altering the player switch settings the game does seem terrible and selecting the blindingly obvious person you want. Is there something we're missing? Can anyone else notice this?

Also, as soon as I do switch to player even if I hold A, they stop running and then go after the ball again, meaning it gets lost half the time. Is there another button I should use to make them run onto the ball without stopping? Would look at the manual but is my mates game and he's at work so can't check it.

I don't quite understand what you're asking here. Why would you hold A?

I have noticed the player selection is a bit iffy. It hasnt ruined the game for me but there have been a few annoying occasions where it has not selected the nearest person to the ball.

I must say i am enjoying this more, I turned everything down a notch or two apart from the crowd sound, it just seems a little better now.

A dodgy transfer i came across ; Micah Richards for £4m and only about £8K a week wages :confused:
 
I'm struggling majorly with the shooting in this years version.

If I even so much as move the stick in the direction I want to shoot in for more than a split second it flies wide :/

I used to be able ot hit the corners all the time in 09 :( Even with the pathetic finesse shots I hit the target around 60% of the time.

Take it thats with the assists off?
 
A only applies pressure on the ball carrier when you are defending by the defender you are controlling and in attack with the ball causes you to do a ground pass.

well my 7 match unbeaten run comes crashing to a halt :(

lost 3 ranked games on the trot. Worst one was against barca - i went real madrid. chose the wrong kit so i couldnt make it the real madrid team too well against the barca players - think i lost 4-0.
then lost vs barca 3-1 arsenal and Germany 3 - 2 England (i was leading 2-1)

My defence is crap - people seem to be able to pass through my team at will and they are in goalscoring positions... AND PLAYER SWITCH LAG was back aarghh. (when i switch players im already behind the action). Back to the drawing board.
