The Official FIFA 12 Club(11v11)

I'l try and convince DooMeR to come back and give it a go. i think its unfair to give up after a few days play Imo. most are new o this game mode and we should give people a chance to get use to this game mode.

@DooMeR if your reading this please reconsider. You and i played just as bad when we first ever play clubs mode in consoles So we should give these guys benefit of the doubt.

Once were all in mumble we should play a bit better. i also like the idea of doing a mini practice session for 5mins before each game to get people going and warmed up.

Got myself a 3 dongle today so hopefullly I have gamplay that's not all jittery.:p

Sort of agree that practice is a good thing but you should also be playing single player Be a Pro where you dont control the whole team. This will give you a good indication of what to do... Tis what I do if I want to pratice. People go out of position all the time, - bench them.

Nice new feature is you can change your player position on the clubs menu so you dont have to back all the way out, save having a squad full of CAM's.

With the way teams are set up to play you really need a CDM. A lot of times yesterday there was no midfield at all.

See you all tonight

Ok cool. Nothing I say should be taken seriously as I haven't played it yet.

I always played FIFA 11 Online Team Play/Pro Championship so can pretty much play anywhere on the pitch. Can't wait to get this game. Also, I'd need to buy a microphone too but I'll get one.

I will give it another go if we can just do the basic stuff, what annoyed is we wasnt even doing that.

First thing we need is a blanced formation 442 is very flat confusing to play at times. I think 433 is the best choice theres a few variations on it but they all basicly do the same thing. Its good in defence it gives the midfeilders the freedom to join the attack with the dm sitting and protecting. Its the easiest formtion to play imo. The wingers stay wide the st stays middle its hard to get in each others way and its others good width.

Its very important for people in postions they best at or enjoy. If we have a striker that can score goals its important for the team he plays there. In my old club i had a striker who had over a goal a game average so he always played there. Just like in real life your not going to play your star striker at cb.

I am not saying people should play a postion every single game but it just makes sense to have people playing in postions they like playing or they good at. If people get bored of a postion or want to change they should say.

Another thing theres a auto postion button its lb on the xbox pad u hold it down and it will keep your default postion based on the formtion. Its really useful when theres a lot of players on.

And the last thing is the the tactics and mentality of the team the captain can set this its important to play ultra defensive or defensive at the start of matches this sets your back line further back and doesnt push them up so much. You should only go for anything higher unless you need a goal or 2 in the last 30 mins or so.

Tactics wise counter attacking is a good default one it effects the way the a.i behaves but its less important when you have lots of players.

I have had a few beers and a bit tipsy so i hope that all made sense.

to make yer vp better goto creation center destroy one of lower teams. e.g goalie in forwards position change it so only has one defender at the side so they are out the way. Go to friendly with a list of achievements you want, switch to semi pro as some achievements cannot be gotten on lower settings = easy mode.

Awesome games this evening, a couple of wins, I even managed to net some goals and an assist :D

3 of the matches we played tonight we played really well, though i think the ones we lose heavily are down to people trying to "play it" at the back rather than just getting rid of it, and playing a high defensive line.

The high line has to be fixed through the tactics menu or by setting us to defensive/ultra def mentality in game, otherwise us cb's were sat where we supposed to be.

The high line isn't what led us to be left with 2 at the back on many occasions. That problem still lies with the cm/cdm role joining the attack too often and not covering the space in front of us and fullbacks that were pushing up for the attack leaving the flanks exposed. Often that left me covering my position in the middle and the wingers coming down the flanks without any help. That amount of pressure on the back will lead to mistakes.

Basically it felt like the team mentality Was set to all out attack.

It was still a vast improvement over the night before though the teams starting to tune in together really nicely.

Yup a massive improvement last night and i do think using mumble does wonders. i know many couldnt chat but at least those that could, were able to communicate with everyone which was great.

i think matt was the only guy who wasnt on mumble as many occasions i told him to clear the ball or pass to me and he diddnt and realized he wasnt on mumble. the rest where and when i did tell people to pass to me they did which was great. i think communication is the key and hope many others can be more vocal. i think having me and otehr experienced players on the mic helps a lot.

playing clubs is very similar to real life where you got to communicate and have a leader on the pitch shouting at players which i tried to do last night :)

keep it up lads we are doing well.

Shall i change our kits to say the england kit?

We need to slap moldiver around a bit until he sorts out the echo on mumble :p Speakers near a desk mic per chance? :D

Well looks like the internet was a little better for me last night, just need to wait until after 9 and hope my PC doesn't crash again, sorry about that.

Thoughts*

It might die down soon (BF3) but for the few hours that I and maybe some other have to play - sitting out games for 20 mins at a time to give everyone a chance to play and then when I do get a game (or 4) playing as a defender or CDM, well no one likes doing it.

Are people even doing the single player achivs to increase their player stats and not just as a striker?

Got to admit though, with the state of us you get a lot more of the ball playing in defence :p

I will not play in the England kit :|

Having played at RCB for two matches, we central defenders were standing where we had to stand. If we'd sat deeper there would have been a large space for their strikers to stand in, unmarked and waiting to start sprinting towards us. We'd get pulled apart every time.

That said, the defensive side of the team was a lot better than the previous night.

Loving the rating system - not. I was an 8.8 in one game, ball went for an opposition goal kick I'm now 8.6. Goal kick intercepted by our midfield, we shoot wide, I'm now 8.4 - as a defender. Ended up at 7.6 due to this. Same happened in my last game - was a 9.7 as CAM with ten minutes to go and ended up at 7.7 despite not doing a lot wrong.

Thoroughly enjoyed the game at CAM where I felt as though I did well to dictate play for the most part. That said, depends how my team-mates felt :P

I don't mind playing there, but its just tackle then pass the ball out. That's it. You see the ball more only because we can't keep it.

Can't make any runs from defence and even for corners it sticks you in the box but it puts a CAM on the half way line, they run to the box thinking that's where they should be only for us to find we have no defence.

Yeah, it still automatically picknig me to take corners when I'm RCB was odd. Thankfully I only took two - one led to the second and the second was an assist.

As it won't be obvious, I'm the defensive liability calcio_di_rigore.

I think i over use the through ball button rather than pass, if you could pick and choose which side of the player you want the through ball you wanted it to go it'd be awesome but so many times last night i tried to play through balls only for it to play it on the side of the player that an opposition was on :(

Any one else have any issues when switching from player cam to ball cam I.e it doesn't?
Whats the keyboard command for this instead of the select button?

I'm ok with sitting playing in the back line I quite enjoyed it and started to build a good partnership with Yatzey who I think was on the LB.

My VP has been training in defensive positions to build his standing tackle stats. I also did a stint of ball skills challenges to get some of that unlocked, the one I really need is the skilled dribble trait as this is my main get out of trouble skill in H2H matches.

One thing I felt we lacked was height/heading ability in the front line so if we did clear long the ball was coming right back at us from the opposition.

Not sure how you felt we worked as a partnership - quite enjoyed the games despite not seeing much of the ball and making the odd error. Was trying to line up with you when the opposition had the ball so we weren't entirely eliminating the option of a (risky) offside trap but also dropping off if you were challening for a header so I could cover in case you didn't win it....or attempt to cover, press standing tackle at the wrong time and completely sell myself.

You're definitely the better defender - who else would come so close to scoring an own goal without doing so? :D

use manual through balls, thats what i use

Aye epic CB skills 3 times in one match... bar, off the line and a point blank back pass :p
Only because I was in the right place covering the cutback to the strikers that I had those scary moments though! online lag makes things a bit hairy.
