Finesse shots are very hard now, scored two crackers with Villa but the majority go high and wide!

I've noticed that as well. I scored a couple of lovely ones with Messi and a couple of screaming long shots with Villa. Long shots are harder to pull off now as well.

Yeah well they got far too easy on 11 so it's a good, just didn't know if there was a certain technique to get them a bit nearer the goal rather than row Z!

Im still having the same problem Andr3w! Its as if i can only get so close and they have a force field around them!

One thing i'm very happy about is when the keeper has the ball in his hands and you run towards the 18yrd line on fifa 11 he used to stop...then kick it but on fifa 12 he doesn't stop

it isnt based on how many you play though, all about your win/loss, your rating, the rating of the player you beat, same as any other game i guess.
when i played normal online i was in the top 100 for a couple of weeks in the ''weekly'' leaderboard, i only played a few even though there were people with 200 games played in the week compared to my 10-20, so im sure the overall leaderboard works the same way.
im sure the top 1000 wouldnt be that hard too accomplish at all tbh, ive got a guy on my friends list from dignitas gaming, he was the best at one stage in fifa9 or 10 won a few tourneys i watched on bravo i think, he really wasnt nothing special though (what is special?), i didnt understand it, my record was better than his on world cup game too.

Right i've played a few more games and i've also decided that the new defensive system is HARD!
I can chase after them but when I press circle to try and steal the ball/drag them back they just do that stupid turn your back and cut inside trick so I can't touch them. Also i'm sick of making lunges which slows me down and then they are away.
Also the jockeying system is just completely useless because they just pass the ball around all the time!
I'm playing on professional and it's a bit too hard for me but semi pro is far too easy! I need something in between.

My win ratio has always been good but I look at the leaderboards and people have played thousands of games and their w/l record wasn't anything spectacular and they were top ten so that's why I presumed it went on wins.
It could do, im just going on my experience, what was your total games played on FUT11 btw? did you abuse it ?
Ha to be fair, i wasn't even trying for ranking, i was bored one day and checked it out and saw which shocked me. As i'm pretty sure i don't play nearly as much as some of the better players.
Although, this year i'm going to enter the Fifa 12 tournament, i'm pretty sure i could beat that 17 year old kid who won that £25,000
