It's from December to May, basically done in seasons and the top 2 from each season goes through, google it.
 
The finesse shot on FIFA 11...clean through on goal at a slight angle you will score 95% of the time. Do you think they've nerfed it so that there isn't a specific angle to score anymore? It's very random now, I don't mind this at all but what are people's opinions on the finesse shot?

I'm happy I can use my Razer pad now with FIFA 12, 11 I struggled with because of the different type buttons, the Razer ones hardly need to be pushed so it was very hard shooting, now you need to put more power on your shots the pad is ideal :)
 
I can score finesse shots from pretty much anywhere on FIFA 11 (when given a bit of space), this one is harder but still possible. However, it's only reliably possible from positions where you would expect said forward to score, you can't just curl them in from anywhere outside the 18-yard box.
 
Plus, if you can get used to being the keeper you can can better posistion him for finesse shots. I can 95% of the time tell when someone is going to use a finesse shot if he has a player that is really good at them.
 
When I first got the demo I was getting ownd by the AI at Amateur level! Couldnt get the hang of the new defending.

Played my friend last night who I play all the time on fifa 11 and whipped his ass :D with tactical defending on off course, deffo takes some getting used to, and seems easier to use when you are playing vs a real player rather then the AI who is just amazing in this demo. Which is good as I never play vs AI. Can't wait for the actual game.

Also to add about the FIWC..I went to one of the qualifiers in London Trocadero..was quite cool..very busy...went out in the first group stage though, won with RM then for some reason decided to use England who are my international team as the other dude was using England..should have stuck to RM as I hardly ever lose with them :p Cant remember what happened for the 3rd group game but i guess i lost that if i went out haha
 
i didn't like the demo although it looks quite old build. it is now way too much like pes. i would not replace it with my copy of fifa 10. its still a better game
 
Anyone think low diagonal shots just go in way too often? Its like theyve taken out the randomness in FIFA 11 shooting - why a lot of us learnt to use finesse in certain situations and made shooting far more accurate in 12 and related to the direction you are shooting (no doubt with a generous helping of FPS autoaim) which inerringly leads to a goal more often than not for me.

Wasnt it FIFA09 that had a small exploit when it came to long distance diagonal shots going in? Feels really familiar...

With regards to the overall game Im on the fence, liking the new tactical defending but once I got used to that Im just noticing little things from previous versions that I hoped would have been fixed (i.e. players still pause after passing and only seem to move after the pass has been completed)

Also think theres a small amount of defender rubber banding - people like Pato just arent as slow at top speed like 12 is making them to be (accel seems fine but its a very short window now) - with the whole push/pull it does lead to lots of running down the wing and then running back as you cant get far enough to run around relative slow defenders...

In other news for the life of me I cant get crossing consistent - any tips? Same with heading too...

I struggled with it in Fifa 11. Try it, run across the face of goal in the arena and lob it the opposite direction. Works every time.

I haven't read previous posts so I'm not sure if it's been mentioned, but the passing is far too slow. It feels PES like at the moment, hope it gets sorted.
 
Haven't had chance to play much. Managed 4 games last night, first two on pro, won both, 2nd two on World Class, lost both :p

Going to take some getting used to the new defending!
 
i think the contain button is only usefull when you are the last defender, or if you just want to get some stability ready for a challenge, ive tried to use it in all kind of situation's but i just cant see the point using it anywhere else other than when your the last defender, the speed in which the contain button changes your players direction is OP, if your the last defender with someone coming at you...contain is your button.
