Started a new game as Kettering in the Blue Square North league. Struggling atm in 9th. The team is so inconsistent. I beat a couple of decent teams (by that I mean League 1 and 2) in friendlies, then I lose to the worst teams in the league.

Finding it hard.

Yeh i found that, id beat teams in the cups and then lose to the lowest in league.

L2 is getting quite tricky, the teams score in the last few mins, i kept losing a lot of goals which was dissapointing, considering id score the most!

You can add Rosina to that list.
His PA is only 5 points off those 3 iirc, and he does amazing for me.
He can tackle as well. Ive played him AML, AMR, AMC, MC, ML & MR, and he never fails to impress.
Last season i played him as the left most player in my AMC trio. Him, along with Gourcuff & Aguero in AMC, scored 60 goals between them, and amounted around the same in assists!

Yep he is good too, but hes more of an AMC iirc? Hes very good though, id choose him over Messi if im honest. A lot cheaper.

The game classes him as AM LRC. With right and center being his natural positions, but ive played him everywhere in midfield and he's run the show.

Alessandro Rosina (at Torino at beginning of the game) can be had for far cheaper than the other mentioned players, £18m he cost me.
He has the advantage of not being as injury prone as Messi.
Whilst being more versitile. I think he's a cracking player, he's fast, he can tackle, rarely gets injured for me and hasnt missed a penalty for me in 8 years ive had him thus far. (31 atm).
Like VanDerVaart, one of the "cheap" gems that are just as good as the highly sought Kaka's & Messi's of the game.

Does anybody on here actually put a reserve keeper on their bench?

I've probably played over 50 season of football over the years in FM and I can't say I've ever seen a keeper get sent off or injured.

I must have gone the last two versions of FM without putting a keeper ever on my bench (bar friendlies to give the other guys a run out).

I tend to do

D
D
M
AM
ST

Preferably
DL/DR
DC
DMC/MC
AML/AMR
ST

I nearly always have all bases covered on the bench, apart from when I have a couple of injuries or suspensions.

:D

What season are you in?

2010 at the moment.

He can be had much cheaper. Normally £40-65m I can get him for. :)

I've had a bid of £45m turned down last season, will try a bit higher! Feel a bit bad if I get him though as I don't really need him, I'll end up displacing one of my wingers who have been performing brilliantly lately.

Lol, ahhh, I never have a keeper on the bench either, even though I've had bad experiences in the past! In one previous version of FM many moons ago, I went through a phase where I was sure the game was fixed, because I'd leave a keeper off the bench, and that game my goalie would get injured or sent off. I'd think 'hmm' and put one on the bench again, and nothing would happen. Then a later match I'd think that I'd chance it and have no sub goalie, and what do you know, in the match my goalie would get crippled. Happened quite a few times in the past! Very annoying.

My bench nowadays is mainly attacking, usually a centre back, a versatile defender and then a forward, winger, AM for the rest. I don't tend to switch my defence around much, pretty reliable. I have quite an attacking bench because the 'You can make a difference!' team talk seems to work more wonders on forwards that I bring on, makes more of a difference to the matches.

He great. I noticed him when I took over the Italy job, he played fantastic for me...

Worth a shot at buying anyway imo.

Yeah i always have a sub keeper..should have put two on in the last game i played lol.

One got sent off, so had to take off a midfielder for a keeper, and he got injured 19 minutes into it.

Had to find someone to put in goal :(.

I have two really good keepers which is the problem, so i can never decide who to play, who not to play.

Another good player is Jeremy Menez, not as good as the other wingers, but cheap and a very good prospect.

Nope, the one from Athletico im on about :p

Hes been playing very well for me. Young too, always learning, always praising other players etc, loving to be playing in the team. I use him in rotation with Mikel and Essien as my 2 CM.

For those struggling in the lower leagues, play a single striker up front, set him as the target man, target man supply run onto ball, and make sure your forward is as quick as **** off a shovel. Its made of win.

May have to try the above tactic, I'm currently mid table in league 2 with Darlington Town. I just can't seem to make any decent chances. Lost 8-0 to Middlesborough in a friendly!!! I decided to start low and work my way up...

from a Man United fan:rolleyes:
