Dissapointing end to the season really, a second successive 5th place finish, only goal difference prevented me from 4th place 
Lost to Celtic in the quarters of the Uefa but got to the final of the FA Cup in which I also lost to Arsenal.
Thinking whether I've got the most I can out of Man City and if a different challenge awaits me?? Will depend on my transfer budget in the summer.
Martins hit 43 goals in 45 games.
Petrov got 37 assists 55 games.

Unless things have changed from FM07 massively got to be Akkers every time.

Akkers is a quality keeper, although on FM08 he comes at a very high price. That said, I am not far enough into my game yet to see if any of the young keepers turn out to be better than him.
Costil, Degre, Ochoa, another french keeper but cannot remember the name, begins with L could be cheaper alternatives, but unless someone here is 4-5 (minimum) seasons in, we dont know for sure.
True. On FM07 I think Akkers was the best young keeper with the potential to be the best in the game. There will of course be other younger keepers who are nearly as good.
The 3 that i know are always good are Ochoa, Ustari and Akinfeev.
Theres also that bargain Enyeama.
Anyone here purchased Lahm? How much?

Hugo Lloris absolutely superb keeper, he is at Lyon now on my game 2009/01 season and he is just unbeatable. Has to be a signing for anyone I think. I certainly know on my next game I will be picking him up.
Also for my current game with HSV my keeper I signed Alamo has finally came in to replace Rost and he is doing brilliantly stats improved ten fold.
Also game update. Won the Bundesliga in my second season, and yet again only made it to the Semi-Final of the UEFA Cup. Two seasons running been knocked out by the winners
This season ive been 2nd seeded for the Champ League. My group consists of AC Milan, Fenerbache and some team I cant remember right now, Board wants me to make it to the first round knockout, think I might have a hard time against Milan however I did beat Juventus last season in the Champs League but didnt make it out the Group stages, also drew with Barca at home which was a hard game.
This season im hoping to push for the title again, been linked with Lyon and Lazio job over the summer gone turned the Lyon job down. 4 games into the new season and currently unbeaten, worryingly conceeded 1 goal in all games though so looking at shoring up the defence.
Currently got Demel at DR, Atouba at DL who im not looking to replace, but in the DC roles ive got Gusto Cabral, and Ibrahim Sonko (from Reading) with Dervitte and Boateng (young HSV kid, quite good stats too) as backup but it seems the defence looses concentration now n then and has cost me games before, Does anyone have any good recommendations id prefer a defender with the obv good defender stats but also to have pace and accel 15. this is the reason I signed Sonko very good defensivly and very quick but I think his concentration stat might be quite low not sure (cant look right now).
But hopefully this season plans are win the title again and make it as far as I can in the Champs League.

Hugo Lloris, thats the one. Been raving about him a lot, but keep forgetting his name as Hugo doesn't sound very French.
Glad to see your doing well, especially with a side I don't hear many people playing as. As for a defender with the stats you speak of, I cannot think of any off the top of my head, but will take alook at my spreadsheet on my home PC.
Possibly top 4 keepers in the game that can be bought fairly easily. Would have Cech and Buffon in there but not going to be easy getting them. Gordon might be fairly easy for a top club to nab off Sunderland.
I think ill add Foster there too, i got him for £350k from Utd.
Hmm I suppose. He's injured on my game. So is VDS. So just Kuszchak (spelling!) as a keeper.
Try get Grohe, hes a good young backup keeper.

Heh, its by scouting through and looking at prices.
I signed the same players in FM06/7, but in 08 its harder.

I have been busy using this tactic in the Blue Square leagues for the last 2 seasons down there and it works ok, just at the lower levels players coming in for injuries can upset the teams balance and it can be hit and miss. With my normal full team out the tactic works well just small squads means any new players coming in end up causing issues.

Time for an update on my Man City league. I'm into my third season now and its currently 27th November 2009. I'd mentioned earlier that I wasn't sure if I'd took Man C as far as I could and I'm still sticking to this.
After 14 games I sit in 3rd place, 9 points off the leader and 1 point above 4th place. I've had some mad results like beating 2nd place Liverpool 5-0 at their place, Man U 4-2 at mine and Arsenal 4-1, yet I struggle against the lower league teams. I put this down to not having found my best 11 yet. I'm going good in the UEFA again and am still in the League cup having knocked out Arsenal.
Bianchi has been superb this season, hitting 23 goals in 21 starts.
Having read the past few threads here I have decided to splash the cash on this keeper Hugo Lloris, having known nothing about him!! A gamble to say the least, I'm purely going on OCUK peoples talk...!
Just started a fresh game, chose to be Chelsea and see how good a squad and how much I could spend before the first transfer window closed.
