Im in my 2nd season as Arsenal, been spending loadsa money on players and got a strong team but the main problem i am having is that all my players are wanted by big clubs who Enquire about how much i want for them ALLLL the time and its bloody annoying, im talking about %50 of my sqaud having the wanted sign next to them and constantly being bid on and enquired, this makes them unhappy about not being able to move clubs and its ruining their morale...argg. any way to stop this ? i have set all their prices at stupid things like 100m and 50m but clubs keep bidding and enquiring. :(

Hi guys,

Another update on my Man City league :)

Wow! What a season! Having posted that I'd splashed the cash on keeper Hugo Lloris for a whopping 18m, it paid off! Excellent acquisition, I was a bit dubious after a while but the first 5 games he played, 5 clean sheets :D

Anyway, Chelsea (again) run clear at the top, my aim was to finish top 4 and get in the Champs League. Petrov again was immense for me, with a ridiculous amount of assists, Bianchi was my top striker with Martins not as affective as last season although he did finish top scorer in the UEFA cup.

The Carling Cup I managed to get home ties until the semi's then got Man U :( However, I managed to grab a 2-0 home win and then a 2-1 away win :D The possibility of my first trophy! In which I duly took and beat West Ham 2-0 in the final. The fans loved me!

In the league I steadily progressed but it was in the UEFA that I was performing superbly, I got to the semi's comfortably again and then managed to draw Bayern! Unbelievably I managed to beat them 5-2 away with a stunning second half performance, I then finished them off 3-0 at my place! Into another final!!

Premiership wise it came down to the last game to who finishes third and fourth respectively, I only needed a draw and managed a 1-0 win :D Champions league qualification!!
There was something else that in the media that was interesting me, Chelsea who had won the league every year since I'd started the game were contemplating not renewing Avram Grants contract and ME was the guy getting linked with taking over there, I was over the moon, after this season I am ready for a new challenge and that would have been a great one. In the end they offered him a new contract, LOL so my dream was over!

There was a small matter of a UEFA cup final to be played at the Camp Nou, Atletico took the lead in the 70th minute after they'd dominated, Martins managed to equalise in the 78th minute and after ET the game went to pens  the boy, Hugo Lloris was the hero saving 3 pens!! I'D WON THE UEFA CUP!

The dream goes on...

ok guys how do i get the kits working.

I dloaded the SS08 Defaults, I have a default folder, the defaults are in there. I see smaller stripe with white backgrounds but I cant see any difference in the actualy strips no sponsors nada infact they look exactly the same as they did before.

I dloaded megapackk SS08 which when extraced gives a sub folder then a sub folder, what do i put where ?

and how do i get the proper kits working ?

Have you done exactly as:
Code:
Tints and hips

If you wish to download graphics for FM08 there is a procedure to follow to get them to show up in the game. You need to go to your My Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2008\

If there isn't a Graphics folder, create it. Then make sub-folders called Kits, Logos, Facepacks for erm kits, logos and facepacks funnily enough. Once you've done this you unpack the graphics you've downloaded into the corresponding folder and then you should see the graphics in the game. If you don't see them, go to the Preferences menu in-game and the display menu. Untick the "Use cache" option or whatever it is called. I forget and I'm at home on my laptop. Then tick the "Reload skin on OK" option I think it is. This makes the game always reload the skin when you click OK. This should sort out the graphics.

Now if you use the SS08 kits, there is something special you need to do. The SS08 shirt template is a different shape to the default kits so you need to download the default 'SS08' kits so that FM08 uses the right default kits. If you don't use this your SS08 kits will show up in game but you will see white edges where the SS08 kit is smaller than the default kits. This is mighty annoying!! So you download the SS08 default kit. Then you unpack the new default kits to the kits folder. BUT you must put them into a subfolder called 'default' I think it is.

Or check out Tints and Hips section of my first post. :)

Not sure whether to carry on my Fulham game or not. Im manager of Fulham & Switzerland, but not sure what to do next.

Do i finish the season/world cup 2010 or start a new game?

Might as well finish the season and do the world cup. If you do well with Fulham and Switzerland (might I emphasise the if bit :p) then your reputation will increase and you might be invited to manage Wigan or Reading or something like that. :D

I came 5th in first season, and 3rd in the second :p.

And the penalty/goal things. Annoys me, then i press one randomly and get a touch line ban :p.

Agree totally, I usually just click the no comment button, although when the decision is about the opposition I sometimes praise the referee for a good call, but not too often. Secretly hope it gives me a slight edge should I have the same referee in another match.

Game update: I quit my Northampton game after being sacked at the end of the first season. They asked my to avoid relegation, I finished 17th and got the boot.

So, I started afresh with the mightly Wolves and last night finished season 1. It was a long season filled with inconsistent performances, and superstar strikers. I had an issue with my team learning to win after a defeat, usually took them 3 games to find their way again, and it nearly cost me. Managed to finish 6th and got a play off spot. Duly dispatched Sheffield United 5-1 on aggregate and then met West Brom in the final. Having lost 2-0 and 1-0 to them in the league, things weren't looking too good, 1-0 down with 5 minutes to go, Andy Keogh smashed home his 28th goal of the season, and then Freddy Eastwood netted his 32nd of the season in the 89th minute to send us up! Well, after Wayne Hennessey saved a Robert Koren penalty in injury time.

So, now for the Premiership, I haven't made an acquisitions yet, as it was late after playing the play-off final, but its going to be a hard decision unless I can get some good defenders on the books.

Current starting XI is like this:
Hennessey, Mulligrew, Wheater (onloan from 'Boro) Ward, Henry, Hamilinen (Signed from Aaritalo's club) Barry (part exchange signing from Yeovil) Olifinjana, Kightly, Eastwood and Keogh

Also have signed Lomski (Aaritalo's Club) and Lekhovva (GK from the same club) Almeyda.

I sold Jay Boothroyd for £100,000 after he missed 3 penalties in 3 consecutvie games, and didn't score in 11 matches for me. Took a £400,000 loss but needed to reduce the wage bill slightly.

Update on my game which I started with HSV. Finished my 3rd season which I was very disappointed with, out of the Champs League in group stages. Won the Liga Pokal (German Community Shield) however only made it to quarters of German Cup, and finished 2nd in League, well behind Bayern.

Got linked with various clubs, Inter, Chelsea & Juve the big ones. Start of second season board only gave me £12m to spend, with Bayern spending big bucks and so were Stuttgart I just didnt think id keep up with the big clubs and certainly not in champs league, with a few players wanting to leave too it was time for me to leave. So I resigned and applied for the Inter job. that was unsuccessful so after the 2010 world cup both Italy and Spain jobs cameup, applied for them but before I heard anything back Arsenal offered me the job with them after Wenger went to take charge of Inter.

So im not manager at Arsenal and they have some squad, however I only have Fabianski in goal with no backup for him what so ever. So need to sign either a very good backup or a total replacement. Trying to get Lloris but I dont think he will be sold. Also I only have two fullbacks Sagna and Clichy with Traore and Eboue both been sold to Juve for big bucks.

Elsewhere I have quite a strong squad, with my wingers/att mids been the strongest with Menez, Maxi Rodriguez, Hleb, Rosicky and Silva all in the squad. Along with Bendtner, Adebayor, Van Persie, Eduardo and Vela all in the squad.

Still got Fabregas and Denilson and Diaby, however im looking to play 4-4-2 and not sure who should partner Cesc in the middle, if I need to sign anyone or not. Wingers I think im gunna start with Silva on left and Maxi or Hleb on the right. Menez is still young-ish and will be backup so will be a cup player for me. Really think I need to sell one of them but not sure which.

Any suggestions on full backs to buy, and if I need a midfielder and a keeper would be nice, although I have my eye on Lloris hopefully.

I have £35m to spend but that can be adjusted to well into £40m if I wanna lower the wage budget.

thanks for the suggestions but i dont need any centre halves already got 4 very good ones at arsenal (kompany included they signed him off me when i was at HSV)

also I was thinking which winger to sell :)

Think I will look at Arouca because I dont need any attacking mids. But cheers for the keeper suggestion, Akinfeev is out of contract soon so that might be a good choice.

Anyone know any young full backs who will be good backups for Sagna and Clichy though, im in 2010 now :)
