Perhaps we should set up some kind of challenge? We each start with the same team, so we get the same players/money etc, and have goal of what happens after x years?

Sound good?
 
Maybe, but whats the point in that! They will know and their victory will be hollow!!

We can have screen shots to prove too. If they are at Forest and suddenl;y sign Thierry Henry we know something is amiss ;)
 
So do you think we should make it a personal challenge or team? So you have to get x team to a certain standard, or you start as a manager of x team, and have to get to as higest level as possible in x years?

Making any sense?!
 
I'd personally like to make it a personal challenge as I've never played CM or FM like before. I've never appplied for another job!!
 
Update on the closing down and tackling issue it is possible to make this work a bit better but still nowhere near as effective as the AI controlled teams so far. So anyone using my tactics might want to tweak the closing down instructions for the individual players to get better results, so far this seems to work better than before but the AI team still is far too good with tackling at times compared to my owen defenders. So the tweaking continues and once i find the right balance/results will upload revised version of my tactics for anyone interested.

Question is can I get a permit for him? Paid 36 mil for him, great young 19 year old striker from Athletico Madrid I think. Thing is, sold Saha to get him so now I only have two strikers I can play and it's past the transfer window!
 
You could try offering him a new contract, sometimes that works. If not you've got problems! :D

Btw I have edited my first post to change the link for the patch. It now points to the final patch thread on SI Games' forum rather than the beta patch thread. I would post the links but there are loads so I'll just leave it.

And remember if you find any new sites or tactics/graphics that you want to share with us, let me know and I'll add them to the first post. :)
 
Has anyone found a tactic they're happy with on this? I have the same problem with every new version, my old tactic doesn't work so I just get bored of the silly results and stop playing.

I play a simple 4-4-2. I have one striker as a target man (Run on to ball). Just finished 1st with Rushden and Diamonds we were expected to come midtable so board quite pleased. I wanna carry on and start my second season with them but got two essays in for monday so won't be able to play til then.

Anyone got any ideas in the challenge idea that was mentioned a few posts back? I'm interested in doing it or even doing an online game - but I don't know how they work as never done it before.

I'm considering going back to a straight 4-4-2. I'm only hesitant beacuse FM has become so specific between players in the same general position, a little too specific imo.

Isn't it just a custom database zipped up and uploaded somewhere? For example there was a Man Utd one where the Glazer's put the club into so much debt that the club lost 10 points and went into administration. Half the players left the team save for Rooney and Scholes I think. Then Cantona came out of retirement to help his old club. I think the target of that game was to get Utd back winning the title within 5 years or something.

That would be neat if they implemented that into the game, kinda what they do in FIFA.
