i'm Southampton, and doing well top of the leauge after 8 games, but can't buy ANYONE! i have some cash in the bank, but really can't find any players that are good enough and want to come to me. my team is thin on the ground!

can anyone recommend some good players free, or cheap, or even loan ones

you should be able to get out of that league with saints squad and very few if any additions, if your struggling try loaning a few players from liverpool as your parent club they should be quite generous. Also never over look a couple of golden oldies on free's they can do a job in the championship for a season and then be released.

I only got £8mill for toni and £3.3mill for Klose

the toni transfer was a drunken mistake, however in the second season Klose had personal problems, I let him go on a leave of absence ( a month each) at least 3 times, his value plummeted and when it looked like he needed a fourth i just got rid tbh.
Hmm I love this game/football in general. I want a player from another team he'll cost me £30-40m. If they want to get rid of him he's sold for a much lower value.

Just noticed, you got Balotelli. How much did he cost you?

hes on loan for the season mate.

just brought Hargreaves back to bayern from man utd, £8 million squid so cancelled paziena loan.

taken awhile to build a good squad a bayern but got to say this one is coming along nicely.

------------ Amelia --------------
Borre -- Lucio -- Rodriguez -- Lahm
Ribery -- Hargreaves -- Kroos -- Schweinsteger
------- Podolski ---- Adriano -----

certainly not a bad first team winning the CL in the seconds season and the Uefa in my first helped a lot mind you in getting better players attracted to the club :p

Started a game with Leverkusen and you've got a measly 400k or so transfer budget, gah! :(

Although, a quick sale here and there soon saw me over 5mill. :D

Playing as Norwich about to start my 4th season.

2nd in Championship first season
11th in Prem second
11th in Prem thrid.

Struggling to find new players, have 24mil to play with yet nobody to buy. Average age of the team is 23, which is dragged up a year by my only surviving member of the original norwich first team, Brellier.

Charles Andre Doudin and Alex (from Vasco) up front knock goals in like nobody else. Doudin was 3rd top scorer in the league.

I play Nacer Barazite, who is the key to my team, behind them as an AMC. Buy him early and he develops into a stunning player. Nikohlas Barkoth on the right, and Mika Arriato or whatever he is called on the left. Behind those two, infront of the defence I play Brellier, who does a stunning job.

Defense is a constant trouble, I have a good set of defenders but there's a problem somewhere. Young brazillian called Everton on the right, Jordy Buis and christ I've forgotten my other two defenders... need to get it reinstalled after a format!

Young Norwich homegrown Lewis in goal, got another 2 young british keepers who are looking to be stars in the future.

When I get it installed again I'll get my 2 other defenders.

anyone else tried my tactic btw ?

im wanting a bit of feedback before possibly posting it on the sigames forums
lol. Dont worry, they dont bite. Much. :p
Remember to post your tactic file, screenshot of formation, screenshot of team settings, notes as to what type of players to play where and whatnot. And any other notes.
If you do that, you'll have less chance of getting flamed. :p.

I'd give that formation a go, but its 4-4-2, and i dont have any players who are any good at ML/R. :p.

boomam have posted it on sigames

try it you will be surprised,

i have posted in yer thread btw

honestly it will turn yer team around i am that confident, play a couple of players out of position then sell them in the window and buy players to fit, you will not be dissapointed.

BTW for any doubters i just won the league with Bayern with 10 yes 10 games to go :p

and im currently stuffing valencia 5-1 on aggregate in the CL quarters.

Just noticed. :)

Im currently trying to tweak my way to a reliable 4-3-2-1,
The tactic im using at the moment gave me a 2-1 in the Semi of the CWC, and a 4-0 (with 3 coming after 90mins) in the final.

I basically have my striker as the runner in the team, with my two AMCs set to run forward a lot too, both set to swap positions, both customised depending on whose playing, for example, lots of through balls for Kaka, long shots for VDV, dribbling for Rosina, etc;
All 3 of my front players have creativity and attacking up a new notches.

My midfield trio sees the left and right MCs being set too defensive, everything on low apart from through balls which is on mixed.
The central MC has creativity and attacking up slightly, and again, customised depending on whos playing (lots of runs and through balls for Fabregas, long shots for Pirlo. I plan to play the center MC as a defensive one against the more attacking teams, with him tracking back to AMC.
The two DCs are set to nout for everything, the full backs set to mixed, and lots of runs if home, little runs if away.

Ive signed Bojans father as a scout, so now Bojan the player is interested in coming. Im thinking of off loading Gilardino & Amauri, rotating between Bojan & Pato, and having my rarely used 3rd choice ST as being one of my better youngsters.
Bojans buyout is £23m. I have, mid way through the season, £59m in the transfer kitty.

Ive got Frans Merida coming at the end of the season for £8m, he's still young, so im gonna loan him out until i need him.
And i plan to buy Criscito from Liverpool as well. Nestas currently 33, and will be 34 by the end of the season.
Tuia's still maturing, but with Barzagli, Bonera, Tuia & possibly Criscito to rotate through, that could work out quite well for me long term.

I have a lot of quality youngsters too, with at least 5-6 being capable of being better than my first teamers if my coaches are correct!

Late December09:
Won the Euro Super Cup.
Won the Club World Cup.
Won the SuperCup.
6 points clear at the top of SeriaA, 2 games in hand.

What i'll probably do is see if i can get my 4-3-2-1 working well, if not, i'll switch to your 4-4-2 and sell/chop/change at the end of the season.:)

Just noticed. :)
I've just added it to the first post. :)

Mind telling me what Bojan's father is called? I can never get Bojan to leave Barca for Man Utd so if I can hold his father to ransom! :D Got FM running and I've checked, is it Bojan Krkic? And that'd be Alexandre Pato? He's probably the best young striker in the game for me apart from Sergio Aguero, as in young to be full of potential but old enough to be good enough to play regularly unlike some younger strikers who might need a few years in the reserves/on loan with the odd first team appearance to get ready.

memphisto - Just tried the link and it isn't working. I've found your SI Games forum thread and will add that link there instead. :)

Yeah, find Bojan in the game, goto personal, he's listed under favourite people. He's an ace scout too, so he's not just a way to get Bojan.
Also, i got him on a free!:eek::eek::D:D

Ive been tempted to go for Aguero, but i dont need strikers, as i have Pato, Bojan, Gila & Amauri, and i dont need AMCs as i have Kaka, VDV, Gourcuff, Rosina.
So he'd be a wasted signing for me unfortunatelly.

Ive switched my formation to 4-1-2-1-2, and its working a treat, far more posesseion, all my players performing, goals galore! A joy to watch.
I do have one too many players for that formation, but with Ambrosini hitting 34 soon, i can drop him, meaning im back to my tightly knit group of players, that consists of 2 for every position.

All 3 of my targets for the summer transfer window have been brokered in the January one, and will come in the summer! :D

Bojan: £free : New first choice striker with Pato.
Criscito: £13m+10% : New first choice DC. Nestas replacement. Oddly Liverpool refused £28m for him, then a week later accepted £20m, then i canceled it, redid it for £15m, accepted, etc; Lowest i got was £13m. :p
Merida: £8m : Long term player, will be loaned out.

So squad for next season:
GK: Akinfeev / Cudicini.
DL: Chiellini / Pasqual.
DC: Barzagli / Bonera.
DC: Criscito / Tuia.
DR: Alves / Cassani.
DM: Pirlo / Mascherano.
MC: Gatusso / Gourcuff.
MC: Fabregas / Mascherano.
AMC: Kaka / VanDerVaart.
ST: Pato / Gilardino.
ST: Bojan / Amauri.

Players to loan out/sell/retire:
Merida
Nesta
Ambrosini
Oliveria
Brocchi
Emerson

My next next season changes will see Gatusso retire/loaned out and Merida replaceing him, and Amauri being replaced with my youth striker, DiGenarro.

Blimey! Nice squad. Who are you managing? AC Milan?

I agree that Aguero would be a wasted signing but after a few years with Utd and when I have some money and a decent squad I tend to go after Arsenal/Chelsea targets to try and stop them dominating the league by er dominating the league myself. :D

Thanks. a lot of hard work, transfer dealings and whatnot has gone into that squad! lol.
Yeah, as Milan.
Which i personally think is the hardest of the big teams to start the game off with. As you have a small transfer budget, an ageing squad, and a demanding chairman! lol.

Im thinking of going for Aguero when Amauri retires tbh. He'll still be under 25 when that happens, so still young.

My teams pretty much complete/rejuvinated now. Apart from the end of next season for Gatusso, and the season after for Pirlo, the rest of the team should have another 5 good seasons in them.

Started a new game with Fulham and sold half of the team, managed to get £19m from sales, and adjusted my budget. Leaving me £31m to spend.

This is the first transfer window:

Before signing a lot of these players i lost 3 games in a row, and then decided id start to spend. My first 5 games were all losses.

Since then ive managed to win most of my games, having drawn with Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal. This ended up with 25 Games Played - 16 Games Won - 3 Drawn - 6 Losses.

I basically got a whole new team;

Darijo Srna - £5.3m
Diego Cavalieri - £4.75m
Gaston Fernandez - £2m
Julio Cesar Cacares - £1.2m
Mario Santana - £2.5m
Hakan Yakin - £2m
Jaime Valdes - £500k
Riccardo Zampagna - £1.7m
Archille Emana - £5m
Jorge Valdivia - £3.5m

Total: ~£28.5m

Some of these signings were absolute bargains.

Zampagna has scored 18 goals in 22 appearances.
Fernandez has scored an amazing 23 in 21 games.
Yakin has scored 1 goal and had 10 assists in 23 games.
Jorge Valdes (injured straight away) 2 goals, 2 assists in 9 games.

Overall i feel ive done pretty well with the money available.

Some of that was also money spent in 12 months time too.

Spent at once, it left me about £11m.

January 2008:

Managed to get again a large budget with £24m to spend.

I decided id get some youngsters and a few key players:

Fabio Quagliarella - £9m
Dagoberto - £2.3m
Kleber - £6m
Ever Banega - £6m
Sabrin Sburlea - £18k
Anthony Scribe - £4k
Geoffrey Jourdren - £150k
Eros Corradini - £110k
Andrea Russotto - £500k

This came to about £22-23m.

Overall a lot of the January buys were prospect, having Sburlea, Scribe, Jourdren, Corradini, Russotto all on loan.

At the moment im lying in 4th in the premiership but if i lose and the 3 below me win, i will drop to 7th, perhaps 8th depending on goal difference.

Overall im very pleased with the season so far, with the money spent ive got a lot of impact back from it. And should be a good team for the next 2 seasons or so. With only Niemi (35), Zampagna (33), Cacares (28), Yakin (28), Kleber (27), Valdes (27) needing to have a younger player behind them.

Get Tuia from Lazio.
Excellent youngster.

Barca buy Dagoberto for £38m on mine.
And im not sure about Jourdren. He was good on 07. Not sure about 08. I think he has a random PA. Same with Corradini.
