nah I didn't want to cheat too much really, it's nice to buld the club's rep up on your own (by buying players and finishing high in the league/cup competitions) ;)

Having said that even after finishing 3rd in my first season in the Premiership, I struggle to attract the top, top players.

My team is as follows:

GK: Akinfeev/Amelia
DR: Richards/Illsinho
DC: Breno/Woodgate
DC: David Luiz/Lescott
DL: Bale
MR: Arshavin/Bresciano
AM: Defour/Van Der Vaart
DM: Cana/Banega
ML: Quagliarella/Reyes
FC: Palacio
FC: Gyan

It's not that bad really, but for instance if I go to Player Search now (filtering out unrealistic targets) the best I can do (sorted by value) is David Bentley :p

VdV has been really crap for me as well, scored like 2 goals in 1 and a half season, misses pens regularly, etc. I find Defour to be my first choice in that area.

Yeah it's possible. I'm just gonna see how well I do this year (maybe have a decent run in the CL and finish 2nd or something), see if that improves my player signing abilities :p
 
Im quite pleased with my squad thus far.
Its doing everything i ask of it in a 4-1-2-1-2 formation.
My strikers are still a bit hit and miss, with only one of my 3 last season actually scoring (Pato, 29 in 38).
But with my front two pairing now being Bojan & Pato, im hoping that both will start scoring more freely, and both get north of 15 goals each.

Currently Hyde United, 8th place in conference premiership!!! Got promoted first season having tied up a parent club deal with Man United. Took 10 players on loan for the season and was promoted easily! Fabian Brandy scoring more goals than hes played games. Doing the same this season. Me and Hyde United are now on his favoured clubs and personnel!! Ace!!
 
when is says the player is not intrested in a move to you and you get to offer him a contract, is it worth mucking about and offering silly money? can it change there mind?

Yeah, if you for instance offer him a contract of "Squad Rotation" he might say he's not interested in a move to your club, but if you switch that to "Key Player", he may say he's interested.

As a tip, if you do rotate, and i mean proper rotation, like every game, then as long as you dont go more than 2 games without giving them a game if they are a 'key player' or 'first team', then they dont complain. :). And it keeps them fresh.
I rotate every game personally. :).
 
so how the heck do you get half good players in? i'm saints, just got promoted to the prem and it's close season.... really need some good players, the board don't send scouts overseas, can that be changed?

Perhaps you need to increase/improve your reputation as a club and stay in the Premiership for a few years to demonstrate to the board a stability?
 
Found a really nice link for team talks for post/pre and half time. Think you'll need to be registered on the SIGames forum however to read it, but it's here.
