Ahem! Less talk of this please. 
Course you all knew that you only need the FM disc to load the game up. Once you're in, you can remove the CD and place it back in the case to keep it from getting scratched.

I think SI made it that way you know. Cheers for the editing of posts. If you want to email each other I can't do anything, just make the hints less hinty.

Why remove it?! You know when you turn the computer on the next day the first thing you will do is turn on your PC is run FM!
I don't think my CD has left the drive yet!

This is my opinion also.
FM cd ALWAYS stays in top CD drive. FM05/06/07/08 have all had that distinction. The bottom CD drive is where other games, inferior to FM reside and perhaps the odd DVD and music CD.

same, in the last 13 years I think my FM/CM CD/DVDs have only been in the case once, when i buy them!!

been playing my current game at work, into 2011/12 season now. i decided to take the save game file home 133mb load up and play on my laptop for a while and now brought the save game back and it's 36mb - hmmmmmmmm?

i noticed that when i started with several teams to see which suited me best (before i found the royal reading!) I think it depends on how many things u browse? like faces and kits etc.. once u browse them and its loaded from the pngs does it store it in the save game :? /shrugs
finished 3rd in the prem with Saints and have good cash and team. Chelsea just offered me a job and not sure if i should take it. As i'm in the Champ Leauge with Saints and they are not......... tough one... gonna have a coffee and think about it
