Haha, you tried adjusting wage budget a little?

I thought at Utd, as 'Key Player' it was ~£120k?
£575k a week spare. :D:o

Hmm strange. Off to Uni now so I will leave you in the capable hands of Syke until I get back. I'll see if I can find some stuff on SI Forums for you. :)

Thats really odd, you're using the default editor, right?

I literally just open the database, do all the edits i want, and basically this;

File > Save Database As > Name > OK

That is really odd, that it isnt saving for you.

Make sure that when you save it, it is put in the My Documents > Sports Interactive > FM08 > db

Two mins, will just check something.

In preferences, under General, and User Data Folder, that points to your folder in My Documents, right?

it points to

C:/Documents and Settings/SESITJL1/My Documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2008/

I take it thats where everything is, as it (by the SES..) is a shared PC or has various users?

When doing the database, you load say 8.0.2, and changed something atleast (just incase it recognizes is the same as the original database).

it works it works! i changed it to the above and then RESTARTED and it sees it!! woow!

Ah cool, what changed? Lol.

Now you can have some fun with a few teams :p.

I created a whole new team, and put Liverpool in the championship (:D). And they're getting rid of most of their players for under £10m.

And then created a few extra players, heh.

im liking international management. Ive given David Bentley and Dean Ashton both their international debuts and bently scored twice against israel and ashton once against Austria. Now both love me dearly as favoured personel lol. I think ill get a few more good players their debuts, do well in Euro Champs maybe world cup and pick a bottom half prem team and pick up all these players that like me :D hehehe

Nice. Are you still a club manager? If you are and someone wants to buy a player off you add a nice big on international debut clause worth a few £m if they haven't yet made their international debut or something like a bit of money after some international appearances. I'm not convinced that the buying club AI will realise you are also an international manager.

no im not a club amanger but that is a nice tip ;) lol

You just need to think of this, "Of course you can have my brilliantly rated youngster for £5m. Tell you what how about £30m when he makes his debut for England eh? Oh look at that I'm the England manager and I've just called him up! £30m please. Oh look he's only worth £10m. Ah well. You win some, you lose some!"

:D:D

Marc, you crafty sod. Im going to try that one :p
Moi? Crafty? Non! :D

There was also a trick in FM05/06 where you could buy German players for almost nothing. You'd give their club a few million up front but give most of the transfer fee after one international appearance. This is for an appearance for the German team which SI didn't have a licence for so they made fake players for Germany. :D

Whats happened to the name anyway ? :p

I get the name change :p

After watching the Liverpool match, Im getting the urge to create a game with Inter. Must resist as Ive yet to complete a single day on my Chelsea one yet...
