i dont follow? u scratched the phones case? or the phone?

i would imagine they will repair it rather than replace, depends how bad the damage is that will be unrelated to the fault that u will somehow self-inflict with 'bricking' it

that's why I was afraid to do it via phone, as they would repair vs replace. Hmm, no harm in calling and asking.

the phone, the side of it :(

Does anyone have any idea when Orange might be getting these in? I'm eager to upgrade but would rather do it with Orange directly so I can use a discount code off my sister in law who works for orange.

Ta

They told me 'sometime in december' last week...

well morals aside, if its less than 28 days old and you ordered online then you should get a replacement (door step swap) if you can convince them its buggered, i did this with my SGS2, it was buggered and they just swapped, if you upgraded instore you are gonna have to visit a store i guess.

Aparently my problems updating are due to my bootloader being unlocked, has anyone managed to do the ota update with their bootloader unlocked ?
I could just lock it again but im having problems with adb seeing my phone (usb driver problem) even though every thing was fine on this computer for unlocking and rooting.
Ill have a play later on another computer and see if i can sort it out.

I did mine being rooted and unlocked.

Jim, i updraded over the phone. Was it samsung or you carrier that swapped it?

Time to find a way to brick it

DHL mate, tell them it keeps crashing and you want it replaced, say you spoke to samsung and they advised a fault.

they swap on the door step, call today and it will be here tomorrow

What are people doing with battery conditioning?
My Nexus is on the verge of completing its second full discharge...

@Atari
With Vodafone badly backlogged, I wonder if this is slowing down Orange's ability to get new stock for releasing the GNex. I have been told to expect delay of 7-10 working days before Vodafone is able to deliver. Samsung may not be able to crank these out fast enough just now, esp with the launch tomorrow in Canada, the recent launch in Germany and Friday's expected launch in the US. And once the ads start appearing, expect more demand.

Personally I wouldn't bother.

K.
We'll i'll wait for this battery to drain completely, full charge, then use however.

Battery drains quickly though, drained 40% last night just from 1h30m of web browsing over wifi and 30mins of playing Fieldrunners!

Anyone rooted their Nexus's ?

Got a few questions:
-- Can i put a different recovery on without either A) losing all my existing data & B) Having to root?

-- Is there a way to root without losing my data (took ages to transfer music!)

-- Does rooting remove the ability to get OTAs?

Waiting for delivery of Vodafone GNex ordered Monday. Here is deal I got:
24 months, free handset, 600 mins talk, unlimited txt, 1GB data, BTOpenZone 1GB, 100 free picture messages for £ 31.

Some folks here wanted SIM free, some folks want 12 or 18 months.I invested in SureSignal box to improve phone call reception in home with thick walls that screw around with 3G big time. Viisitors have to make calls in the garden! So Vodafone natural choice. But I threatened to leave because I was unhappy that Vodafone was taking so long to launch and better deals elsewhere mentioned on this Board. Anyway, opted to stay with Vodafone in the end. So over two years pay £ 744. How does that sound to you?
