Gah.. The Desire HD is a bit better in terms of battery life? :(

I'm not liking that statement as I was planning to move from a Desire HD to a Galaxy Nexus next week.

all in all battery is good...it seems I have a some kind of a issue here...

look on earlier post from people that posted their battery lifes...

I work in a building that blocks networks signals most of the times. and Im happy if by end of work day after 8 hours in this building ) I get 40-50% left

There should be a pretty big difference between the battery life, by all accounts the Nexus battery is good, the Desire HD battery is rubbish.

I'm finding the battery to be decent so far. I easily get 24 hours from a full charge. Obviously different people have different usage habits so your mileage may vary.

Am just looking on some screen shots on here from battery use...
Most people have green bars in mobile network signal, while mine is yellow all the times...
That can be a cause of battery drain...could it be tmobile signal i SE London...

Mine is yellow in the area where i live, only once i get closer into to London do i get green bars.

Charging issue sounds like "Bump charging".

I have an issue. So I have noticed this a lot recently. I have wifi off and am in an area with either 2G or edge. Now I have at least 3 bars, yet the signal is gray in colour and the phone will not use any net services, no browser etc. Why? My iPhone in these areas connected fine to 2G and Edge. How do I fix this?

Pity our friends in the US who have been told so many things about the expected delivery date of the GNex that your head would spin! Verizon has the exclusive and initial expectations of a launch in early November were pushed back to late November then to early December then 7 December, then 9 December and now talk is 15 December! Mind you the furore over their refusal to launch with Google Wallet has landed Verizon in a pot of hot water from the PR point of view. What next? Stay tuned.

What deals have people been getting direct through Voda? I need to call them tomorrow and it'd be useful to know what they're likely to be able to be haggled down to with a free handset.

Voda deals

Hope this helps. My deal with Voda as follows:
free handset, 24 month contract, 600 talk mins, unltd txt, 1gb data, 1gb BT Openzone wifi, 100 free picture messages, £ 31pm. I could have done something for 18 months but decided that as a Google Experience (some might say "flagship") phone, the extra time on contract is offset by the rapid updates direct from Google.

By the way, I had lots of trouble getting hold of the GNex. Ordered online with Voda on Monday, by Thursday I still had no delivery date as they said the phone was on back-order. I took matters into my own hands and visited a couple of stores and learned that the stores have a stock system they can view to see where there is a phone in store. Most London stores out of stock but I found 1, raced over there, got Customer Service to speak to the Store Manager and insist he give up his only GNex to me! They were upset because the Store Manager said the in-store price is £ 41 pm for a free handset over 24 months. I considered the £ 500-£ 530 SIM free price but having had the Nexus One for approx 2 years (loved it and the constant OTA updates), I figured I would be happy to go contract this time.

I was threatening them with leaving but in reality, I know that Voda is only signal that gets through walls of home with aid of their femtocell box, marketed as SureSignal. Box works a treat and all other network users who visit my house have to make and receive calls from garden!

Hope that helps.

I upgraded through voda's telesales. Ordered the phone yesterday and it arrived today.

Managed to get an 18m contract for 36 quid a month (28.80 after discount) and paid £120 for the phone. Earlier in the thread somebody managed to get the same deal but an upfront cost of £100.

First impressions. Have been playing with the phone for a few hours and its a great upgrade from the Nexus 1. Out of the box it felt a lot bigger, but now picking up the Nexus 1 it just seems small. Its well built and feels lighter than the original nexus.

Still getting used to waking the phone via the power button, and the loudest ringtone setting isn't particularly loud.

@mavers
One of the first things I noticed about the GNex vs the N1 was the front facing camera which when using GTalk is awesome. Just came off a video call on GTalk with friend in US. They called me on GTalk, the GNex rings like any phone call and the quality of the picture/video and sound was awesome, like they were in next room! Try it out.
