***** The Official Galaxy Nexus Thread *****

So I have just received my new Nexus phone.....are the after market charging docks any good as £50 for the Samsung one seems a bit steep, especially when there are plenty of aftermarket ones arount the £15 bracket....also a nice leather flip case recommendation wouldn't go amiss....

It did an update when I switched it on, yet it says the Android version is 4.0.1.....I assume there is another?

ebay jobbies do the trick around £9.99 - £14.99 all seem ok really, i paid £12 for one and works as it should

I bought eBay item 130619259167, mainly because it looked like it may take the phone with a case on.... I was happy when it arrived and fitted perfectly with my CaseMate case!

should work fine with the nexus - got mine today - very nice.

Your GN went from build ITL41D to ITL41F and the version remained at 4.0.1. (Check by going to settings then about phone)

The 4.0.2 OTA on it's way again and you will have version 4.0.2 and build ICL53F when you get it.

Found the bug in Handcent that I had with Go SMS today, where you send a text to X and it shows it being sent Y's name from your address book. :confused:

A reboot sorts it out again though, but gone back to stock SMS app as it's a tad risky not knowing 100% who you're sending a message to!!

cool...I have just gone to 4.0.2 as you describe.....I am really liking this phone...it is sooo much better than my Dell Streak.

I've passed the info to Handcent. I had similar a couple of times with a beta version. Had msg from my mate who has personal sound and led colour, received a msg but it gave a number I've never seen before and my standard sound and led colour so I didn't know it was from him. I've not had any issues since installing 3.9.10 earlier this week :D
 
Same here! Speaking of docks, anyone seen a decent horizontal position one? Wouldnt mind turning it into a clock at night :) and useful if I got por.. er a movie on it!

Edit, ah that would mean using the 3-pin connector thingie, still possible to charge through it I guess?
