***** The Official Galaxy Nexus Thread *****

And the blogs are reporting a "revolutionary" new device from Samsung that will be advertised for the first time this weekend for the SuperBowl. Talk is that it is to be a tablet, not a smartphone. Some say it would be too soon to launch the S III smartphone as the S II is still selling so well. Also as Apple is expected to launch a new iPhone in Q 2, why not wait until there less competition from the 4S and more known about their iPhone 5?

I'm a magic bean salesman.

Not really! :p

I help run a company which is a global agent for a number of large companies that manufacture and sell industrial machinery (mostly related to the food industry).

Not all that exciting really... :(

Not bad! :)

I always thought your job would be something involving mobiles considering how many you have now and how often you get new ones :p

Well, all of our sales people and staff have to have mobile phones (and in some cases, tablets) and I sort all that out.

Fun! :D

I'm so tempted to get one of these handsets , hearing an update model might be out soon has made me stop and think, although there is always something bigger and better around the corner I suppose....

be very surprised and angry if an update model came out, no evidence or past experience with samsung or nexus phones that i can think off, where as a possible update for certain US carriers is quite likely,

After the Nexus S released in December 2010, the GSGII was then out in April. I think we're looking at a similar time scale this time.

Personally, I'd be more than happy if a new top end phone came out every month :)

Was thinking of getting the GN but it appears not many are all that happy with it due to some short comings like the GPU is noticable slow and various ICS issues?

Anyway I think I might steer clear unless these issues are not really noticable?

If it's not a GN what would be a good alternative for those who have the GN and were considering swapping to something better?

don't know where you have heard this sort of info, not one person upset on here, some were effected by the volume bug at the start, but apart from that its been rock solid, no ics issues and the GPU thing is more myth than anything, sure the SGS2 might have a better GPU, but nothing on the market that this wont run.
