Just got my 4.1.2 OTA notfication. Clicked on it and it rebooted to a dead android on his back with a red exclamation mark above him.

No buttons worked so i pulled the battery and when I plugged it back in it booted back to 4.1.1 and told me no updates are available.

just downloaded the update from the google site, booted CWM and flashed it.

I did a nandroid first, i havent done one for ages as i didnt flash recovery, i just boot it when i need it.

I got 4.1.2 with a ROM on XDA. It's so, so smooth... feels even better than original 4.1. Other than that, not a whole lot different. Being able to expand notifications with one finger is nice though.

Do we know yet how long it will be before users receive an official OTA update to 4.1.2?

I am in the U.K. on Vodafone, if that makes any difference, but it does look from earlier posts as if some folk might have received it already!

Yes, mine was an official OTA whilst on O2.

Turns out the reason for the patch failure was because i had previously modified the build.prop file whilst trying to increase the volume issue. I put it back to the backed up original file and sideloaded the patch and it applied fine.
