I wouldn't recommend this method!

Did it on my N7 and it stopped Google Play recognising my account. I could no longer download / upload apps. Couldn't figure out how to fix it so I did a full wipe.

Been doing that for years on different devices and different android revisions.
Never had an issue.
 
Either I was being dumb but I couldn't find out how to. Thought the N7 / 4.2 may have just decided it needed at least one account...

I know with older versions of Android it wouldn't let you remove the default google account, the only option was to hard reset and start over.

Both with my Galaxy Nexus and Nexus 7 I removed the google account (Settings, Click on the google account, click the three little squares and remove) and then add it back without an issue :)
 
Have ordered a new white one.Do i need to get a screen protector for this? I have had an
Atrix for a year now with no protector and the screen is still like new.
I know the Atrix is Gorrila Glass and the Nexus is not...

really? you know a new version in the nexus4 is out? this is a great phone, but the nexus4 is cheaper when in stock
